I've been a big fan of the LEGO film games for some time and have had a lot of fun so far with LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Harry Potter.
Now I'm very much looking forward to LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean.

Is anyone else looking forward to this one as much as I am? :woot
 
I've loved these games from the start; I'll always remember the first Star Wars ones, cos I couldn't get enough of 'em! :cheeky
Recently I've moved onto other games (and of course, modding PotC), but my younger brother still plays the latest LEGO ones, and it's always great to join in with him every now and then.
He's had LEGO PotC pre-ordered, so I'll be taking a look at it too, when it arrives. Can't wait to see how they've done all the cutscenes- they can be hilarious! :rofl

The cut-scene at the start is so like the first film its unreal, and so funny too, with their own "legoy twist"

Anyone know when the release date is for the game? :cheers
 
I wished I did. Supposedly a week before the movie, so that would be the 13th of May. I've also seen a date of the 10th of May somewhere.
But the site I pre-ordered from changed the date to the 20th of May, which doesn't make me very happy. :whipa
 
Either way, be thankful that it will be in this month for certain. :razz
I had the unfortunate situation of pre-ordering a game last February (you may have heard of 'Gran Turismo 5'), with it's release date (at the time) set for March.
However, it was eventually pushed back to May... then August... then September... and then, finally, November 24th.
That game was already notorious for being pushed back again and again, but this was just absurd. Luckily, it was worth the wait, I'm glad to say. :woot
 
My brother got the game a couple of days ago, and after having played through a bit with him, it's really impressive!
The usual cleverly made cutscenes and gameplay of the LEGO series carry on, and they work really well. ;)

Something that I found particularly funny was how they made Beckett a short character, and how there are numerous references to his height in the cutscenes.
I know he looked fairly short in the films, but this is hilarious! :rofl

Another thing I liked was having to collect 'Ship-in-a-bottle' objects in every level, and how they actually make small, controllable model ships.
Some of these resemble various film ships, others I think are just made up. They look pretty good, though!

Obviously, the game also contains MAJOR spoilers for On Stranger Tides, seeing as you can play through it like the other films.

I KNEW it was supposed to have been released last Friday. It's just The Netherlands that doesn't seem to have caught on.
Probably they've got the discs lying around in the warehouse, to release them a week later than the rest of the world because they don't know the real release date. :facepalm
 
Unlucky about that, mate. It's a shame the whole world can't have new releases at the same time. :facepalm
At least by the time you get it, we'll hopefully know a bit more about On Stranger Tides from the film itself! :dance
 
True. In The Netherlands, they apparently decided to release the game and film on the same day, so there's no need for it to contain spoilers, provided I watch the movie soon enough after the release. :wp
 
Ah, so there is some sense to your release date after all. :rolleyes:
 
xD: Strange that Disney was fine with the game coming out before the movie because of the spoilers it contains. I think the Netherlands has the right idea. :yes

Although it would be nice if they'd hurry up releasing the bloody movie already! :ixi :shock
 
For some reason, even though I have been waiting for ages for the movie to come out, it seems kind of early for some strange reason. I can't believe that another POTC movie is coming out on Friday.
 
So Pieter, what's your verdict so far? You must have played the game enough to get the idea by now... :wp
 
I just finished the main storyline about a week ago, and now I am on to replaying the levels in order to attain all of the minikits, compass items, and money to get the True Pirate award. This is my favorite Lego Game yet!
 
Indeed this game is great fun! I played through all levels in story mode too; have yet to to the double-play things. :wp
