lots o' questions about POTC

yar! I've been a member here for a LONG, LONG time, but I hardly ever be postin' methinks me last post was on talk like a pirate day!


Ive been da proud owner of POTC fer xbox ever since its release date, but I've not ben able tew see POTC for PC in stores, ever. me friend just said that he be having da game, and he would let me buy it off him.

most of de posts here be talking about ta build 10,11, whatever the heck # your on right now, so I have some questions about the build.

can you pick a character? or are you suck with nathanial? Ive seen screenshots with the character as different players.

can you name yourself, or are you suck with the name nathanial?

if you cant change those thins, how easy would they be to change? I care more about appearance than i do the name, if that matters at all.

are the quests cooler?

are the random quests (i.e. merchant and tavernt quests) better?

can I get a hook hand?

can you get married?

what new shps are available?

are there still skelletons? I always felt they were out of place.

what can cannons go up to?

can you get letters of marques?

can you buy a house, and can you store stuff in it?

does the crew do more, instead of just help you work faster, steal yer money, etc?

are there new islands?

are the bugs fixed?

can I become governor, admiral, etc?

can I do more at the tavern, like sing songs, get in bar fights, etc

do you need to have food with you at see to keep the crew happy?

how easily can I change these features if I like/dislike them?

does my PC meet system requirements?
-XP
-1.5 GHZ
-256 MB ram
-geforce mx 4000

-in the original game, why cant I take the manowar out of the endgame area? can I do it in full game?

-can I put in my own music?

-can I hold people ransom?

-can I collect bounties, like in SM pirates! ?

can I find/bury treasure?

can I change the diffiucly?

can I have the crewmen stay ontop of the ship when Im in FPV mode?

can I climb to the crows nest, and those kind of things?

can hte skills go past 10?

how are officers names decieded? because one of my officers is named oscar meyer, its hillarious.

Yes. Any model in the game by now IIRC. (And there's been about a dozen or two new ones).

can you name yourself
Yes

are the quests cooler?
Bugfixed, and difficulty tweaked at points. But there are some new ones, and some ingame but disabled and/or broken one enabled.

are the random quests (i.e. merchant and tavernt quests) better?
Bugfixed.

can I get a hook hand?
Change your model to one that has a hook.

can you get married?
Yes.

what new shps are available?
Quite a few.

are there still skelletons? I always felt they were out of place.
You can turn them off.

what can cannons go up to?
32lb

can you get letters of marques?
Yes.

can you buy a house, and can you store stuff in it?
No, but you can go to your ship's cabin and store stuff there.

does the crew do more, instead of just help you work faster, steal yer money, etc?
Sorta. Their HP and skills are generated better now. And now you can divide the plunder rather than pay salaries.

are there new islands?
Not in the build, no. Or at least not yet.

are the bugs fixed?

No, yes.

can I do more at the tavern, like sing songs, get in bar fights, etc
Get in fights, yes.

do you need to have food with you at see to keep the crew happy?
Yes. And rum. But like SMP / Pirates!, the longer you're at sea, the unhappier they get and you'll need to divide the plunder.

how easily can I change these features if I like/dislike them?
Almost everything is toggleable, or at least tweakable, in a settings file.

does my PC meet system requirements?
-XP
-1.5 GHZ
-256 MB ram
-geforce mx 4000
Build probably takes 25% more processing power than stock POTC.

-in the original game, why cant I take the manowar out of the endgame area? can I do it in full game?
The game doesn't end, yes. And you can capture MoWs if you want.

-can I put in my own music?
Yes. You can now, though.

-can I hold people ransom?
Yes.

-can I collect bounties, like in SM pirates! ?
If you consider ransoming captured pirates that, yes.

can I find/bury treasure?
Other than the built in treasure quest, not really, no.

can I change the diffiucly?
Yes.

can I have the crewmen stay ontop of the ship when Im in FPV mode?
Yes.

can I climb to the crows nest, and those kind of things?
No.

can hte skills go past 10?
No, why would they? It's just a percentage anyway, if you set the max to 100, then 10 would only be 10% and like a 1.

Same as before.
If you need to change an officer's name, you can use the console.
