Has anyone else come across this? - if you are on Tortuga, the quick travel menu gives the option to go to a house. Once in the house you are magically transported to a house on Guadeloupe. If you the exit the house, the door locks behind you and you are stranded on the Island of Guadeloupe with no boat. even if you but a boat to try and escape, it gets delivered to tortuga. the map gives your boat position as tortuga yet you are stranded on a different island.

would somebody like to shed light on why this bizzar feature even exists?

It's not a feature, it's a bug. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

If you've installed the Supermod, you can buy a house on Guadeloupe. At a guess, for some reason the quick travel icon for this house appears on Tortuga. So you click on the icon, the magic of quick travel teleport takes you to Guadeloupe, but the rest of the program still thinks you're on Tortuga.

You're stuck. Reload a recent saved game. If you have no recent saved game, swear for a while, then start a new game.
 
Go to Guadeloupe and look for someone who wants to sell you a house. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />
