Making a New Quest

If he could make it more goldie it could be some kind of quest there you get a messege in the taver that The Vandrdecken´s Shipyard needed your service,,,

When you get to the shipyard he tells you that you shal export a ship from (I.e tortuga to oxbay .... Not the port, the place where no one is.... to man: (I.E: MR X )

You sail to Tortuga And when you get in to the tavern there a guy give you the ship..

Now you have to sail to axbay with the ship... when you get there.. There is these spanich guys who knew about the mission that says that the man who Bought the ship (MR:X) had being captured by the english gouvaner, and that those spanich soilders should take care of that ship...

You dont belive him so you start to fight against the spanich soilders, When your live is 50% some of the real people that sould bring the ship to (MR:X) comes to the fight and start talking to you.

He sais that MR X at a other island. You start asking him questions ...Then he tells you that he give the money to you that MR X should give you, so they could bring it back...

Than the spanich soilder says its Belong to spain and no one must ever know about it (for some reason) And they have to bring it back to spain,, //

now you can choose : (Give it to the spanich soilders,,, No monney But you and spain become friends), Or (Give it to The MR X You get monney) ,,, Or kill them all... (allmost imposible ) If you make it you get the ship by ur self)

Making quests IS quite possible. Bartolomeu o Portugues did it, Short Jack Gold does it and sometimes I mess around with it as well. As far as quests are concerned, we have PLENTY of ideas. But we need people translating them into working game code. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
Not really, as far as I know. Best way is just looking through the code files, following one quest and trying to understand what the code means. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

can you tell me where i can find a Quest file? a quest that some one made by them self.. .. A quest i can edit and make the new one

1: can you copy from some file... a guy who is standing at a shipyard?? (every thing about that guy.. ID Model Everything...) (Just a guy standing at some place that you can talk to?)


2: Do you have a quest you made by your self?

PLEASE: Can you please seperate So the hole quest (NOTHING more than THAT quest) and put it in a new folder? So The Diealogs and the otherfrom that quest in one folder and load it up on ftp With name of (I.E Chris-new-quest-test) Please?


And explain or find a tutorial hehe... This was complicated
 
1. In PROGRAM\Characters\init all characters are defined. Just copy a character, CHANGE HIS ID (otherwise you get a mess) and put him wherever you want with his location and locator.

2. I haven't made an actual quest of my own. I rewrote most of Bartolomeu's quests, I am rewriting the First Contact quest and I cooperate with Short Jack Gold on the CotBP film quest with him doing the coding and me doing checking, commenting and slight improving.

Well, Chris, I can't really help you with the quest making but I agree with Pieter, you should ask Short Jack Gold and/or Bartolomeu o Portugues.

and for asking for help 10/10 for that too ...
So let's get started.
First WHO - decide on the character you want to use. If its a new one then you have some work to do.
If you can use an existing one life's a little easier - not a lot, but a little.

Then WHERE - on which island do you want your quest to start?

An WHEN can it start - do you need special skills or attained a certain level, is it aside to the Main Quest, or part of it?

And DO have your story line firmly in mind. Don't forget the "what if's". What if it's dark, what if I have officers, what if I don't, what if I run out of money etc. etc. etc.

Answer those questions and we can get down to the nuts and bolts of it.

It isn't just the quest I'm afraid, lots of other things come into play but if you want to go further, then post your reply.

the quest I do want to start in tortuga tavern, there some one tell me that i must pick upp a ship in a other island. I go to the island pick upp the ship and sail to oxbay (the place there no one is I.e not the port) than a fight and some new one come... Look on the top of this forum...


The first persson i will talk to (in the tavern ) I dont know.. Maby Pirat1

Also if you don't have it yet, download Notepad++ (so you can edit the various program sections).

I will be on and off here for the next week as I have to go abroad, but I may still be able to "get on line".
We will try to get you started in the meantime.
