I have just been testing my moderation powers and I am warning you: It's really easy for me to edit a person's post count. Morgan actually had a postscount of 1 for a minute or so. I reset it back to the original value this time, but at least you'll know the moderators CAN do that! And Thomas the Terror is now also a moderator. it is indeed very tempting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> but i must admit, i'm surprised that you haven't made some crazy remark about your promotion. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
I also just found the option for members to remove the "Edited by" legend from their posts as per Old Salt's request, so now regular members can get rid of this. Please don't abuse. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/user_comment.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="user_comment.gif" />
 
wouldn't that just mean we would have to keep asking you to remove it? wouldn't seem to me that anyone would ask in that case. it's more of a minor nuisance that it happens each time, not nessesary to remove them one by one by asking.
 
And while we're at it, I figured out how to make forums visible to only certain members groups, so how about making a PotC modding forum only visible to the modders? That would enable modders to post their work that they do want to show, but don't yet want to share with <i>everyone</i>. Also it might give new members an incentive to join the modding effort. It might be a good idea or it might be a really bad one. Any thoughts?

i'd think it would be a bad one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" /> unless there would be a spot to put work that the modders want to share, of course.
 
Of COURSE there would be a spot to put the work the modders want to share. All the old forums will remain. There would just be an additional modders-only forum.
 
that could then indeed work. but i think the best way of finding out would be trying it.
 
I say, try it (I don't think I am going to try to do it, because I need to figure out some things about all those features.)

But I think it is a good idea, then you won't get questions of new members:

And it is a stimulation to get them modding to.
 
Yep. I used to moderate a forum years ago. There are invisible rooms and everything else.

Pieter, so we have to remove it or you already fixed it so it won't appear?
 
In order to disable the "edited by" tag, you must do a full edit and uncheck the box below the edit window.
