A little update on the COAS game:-

Seems like we'll be sticking to POTC & AOP then for modding.
 
Oh no; not AGAIN. The open PROGRAM folder is the sole reason why modding for PotC is still going strong. On the other hand, the originally closed PROGRAM folder on AoP is probably the reason why modding for that game never picked up. Sure one of the updates opened up the PROGRAM folder, but by that time we had already all decided to stick to PotC and people who did play AoP had already given up hopes of properly modding it. Good way of ensuring the game dies a quick dead if it's not good. Not a smart move as far as I'm concerned. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

Yeep! CoAS is a dead born child.
but i have the Models and textures from the game.

So we have to make our own stuff. but I need some Help with AoP. I think i´m the only one at the moment <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
And my coding knowledge is poor.
 
I also believe you're the only person working on AoP. If CoAS had an open PROGRAM folder, we might eventually consider porting to CoAS. Perhaps we will one day move on to AoP? But I don't think that's very likely. Probably we'll just stick to PotC due to our ever-lasting lack of manpower. Anyway, we'll probably need to tell seaward.ru that having no open PROGRAM folder for CoAS is not a good thing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I am still working on AoP, but at the moment my time is very limited. No program folder in CoaS is bad news. Just click your way through it!

Indeed, if CoAS is un-moddable, that will kill the game in a real hurry. And it looks so damned promising too.

By the by, I'm once again back to modding both PotC AND AoP, so there are at least 2 or 3 active modders for AoP right now. One of my current pet projects is helping with the translations on the current version of SoFS. Just so's you all know.

As stated in another thread, I've now run across info on the seaward.ru forums that seems to indicate that modding of CoAS will be unlocked once the game reaches international release. Something you do need to know though, do NOT ask them about it, the Admins got tired of the 'WHEN' question and state that further questions asking that will result in a delete and warning, then delete and kick policy.

interesting... there are tons of mods for CoAS but every one of them seems to replace something in the vanilla game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Perhaps they'll open up the PROGRAM folder at a later point.
And if not, perhaps we can arrange something with seaward.ru ourselves to get the required code.
