Guide My recommended ships on each tier

Well guys, in this post i would like to show my favourite and recommended ships from each tier (From 8 to 2), divided in three categories when it’s posible. These categories are “war ship”, “trade ship” and “versatile ship”. I will also show my favourite ships here, and the most recommended ships to start when not using cheats. The information given to you is from the ships of TSH campaign. So…. Let’s start with it!

Tier 8 ships

There are no classifications on this tier. The two ships recommended are: The Heavy Lugger and the Hoy.

  • The Heavy Lugger is an useful trade ship for beginners. It is also the stock ship in which you start the TSH campaign. It is more like an improved lugger. The differences between the Heavy Lugger and the Lugger are that it has more hull HP and can take more cargo on its voyages. As from the lugger, it should avoid battles, as it doesn’t have enough firepower and crew to resist attacks. Nevertheless, because you have an excellent speed and mobility on this ship, you can easily sail away from the battles.
  • The Hoy is another good trade ship. It has less HP hull than the Heavy Lugger, but it’s more fast and agile. It has also more cargo capacity than the Heavy Lugger, although it loses more firepower, leaving it with only 8 cannons of caliber 4. It reminds me as a “small sloop”, but inclined to trade function.

This is now for the tier 8 ships. If you want to know more information about the ships’ stats of these two ships, please check my post here: http://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/ships-stats-on-the-campaign-of-tales-of-a-sea-hawk.21983/

And that is now from the tier 8 ships. In another post i will put the tier 7 ships. Please take note that this takes me a lot of work and time, so don't expect to upload posts regularly.

Hope you find it very useful :) Also put here which ships do you like most for "war ship", "trade ship", and "versatile ships" if you like :)

Those are two good little ships. They make good smuggling ships too as they can go very deep into the wind. I like to remove some cannons from the lugger since early in the game with low skills all you are going to hit is water anyway.

But the Hoy is the prettier ship, so that is the one I go for.

Ok, now i'm going to talk about Tier 7 ships.

Tier 7 ships

I have only made a classification about “trade ship” and “versatile ship”. The ships recommended are: The Jackass Bark/English Bark (2nd model), the Barque Longue and the Light Pinnace.

The “versatile ship” recommended are:
  • The Jackass Bark and The English Bark (2nd model). They have almost the same stats and its role is practically the same. They both have nice HP hull, they are fast and agile, can take a decent amount of cargo, they can hold a reasonable number of crew and it has decent firepower to defend themselves from ships of their own tier. These ships are excellent to use the pirate style: Attack trade ships destroying their sails and board them, take its cargo or capture the ship, and sail away.
My favorite “trade ship” on this tier is the Barque Longue.
  • The Barque Longue is a very useful ship in which to begin your career on the Caribbean. It has good speed and agility, and it can take a lot of cargo. But their weaknesses are the low amount of crew and the small firepower of the ship, of 16 cannons of caliber 4, meaning that this ship should ran away from a battle as fast as it can.
  • The Light Pinnace, although it’s not the best and recommended “trade ship”, it is also a great ship. It’s very slow and doesn’t have agility, but it can take more cargo than any other ship of its tier (2000 cargo capacity), and it’s very well defended with his good number crew and the equal firepower as the Jackass Bark. This ship should be escorted with a more powerful ship, like a Heavy Brig, for example.
