new computer... cant play potc! help

i'm on a new computer and have decided to load potc...
well it loads fine but when i try to start the game it comes up with an error along the lines of "Engine.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." Is my new computer just not good enough or is this another bug??? this is without any mods

What kind of computer is it? Does it happen to have an Intel onboard graphics card? Those are notorious for not working very well with the game.

its a gateway... with a intel® Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family (Intel® GMA 3000) graphics card... out of luck then????

I don't recall anyone being able to get the game to run on an onboard Intel thing. Perhaps you can update the drivers; maybe that does some good. Otherwise, I'd recommend getting another graphics card, such as a GeForce or something like that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
