New Islands Mod

For everyone using the new islands mod for the Post Build 12 mods: I made a new file available from Pieter's Pirates Page: New Islands Code. You should extract this small file on top of your PotC installation after installing the most recent modpack. This will ensure that the new islands are properly compatible with the most recent modpack.

I just installed the lastest version of the modpack with New Insland pack and new code for insland pack.

I can see the new insland in the world map and when I sail to these I can see the fort and the city from the sea, but I can't moor in the new island's port and beach, sorry if it is a know issue.

On most new islands, the land locations haven't been added yet, so you won't be able to land in the ports yet. You can only land at Hispaniola, Turks and only one beach on cuba. If these don't work either, something did go wrong.
 
A small update was made to the New Islands Code file that should fix the bugs in the shipberthing interface (new towns showed "error" as their name). Screwface told me I stupidly forgot to include one file. I did add it now. Hope it works. Haven't tested it yet. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
That fix didn't work. I still seem to be getting error messages:

I don't understand why it doesn't work for you. It seems work for me. Perhaps, your errors are generated because some ports are not really existing yet but are declared in the kam_shipberthing_ship.c. But for me their names appears in the ship berthing interface and i can berth a ship on Santo domingo and turks <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Can you please send me your PROGRAM folder? You are using my post Build 12 mods now, in addition to your own islands mod, aren't you? Shouldn't be too hard to find my error when I've got all your files. Thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same files than yours (post_b12.zip + update_6-9-05.zip + new_islands.zip + new_islands_code.zip). I downloaded your last new_islands_code.zip and it seems that the kam_shipberthing_ship.c file in your package isn't the same of mine. The new ports are not in so i will upload mine on the ftp for you.

The most curious is when i turned on the tracfilesoff in the engine.ini, i have the same RUNTIME ERRORS than you but the shipberthing mod still works on new islands so..<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I think i also fixed the bug "error" in the new traders dialogs files and i will upload the files on the ftp too.

Sounds like something in reinit is causing SB to not initialize; or at least that was the problem last time we got a deluge of runtime errors from it.

Excuse me for my late reply but i'm preparing a new update for the new islands mod based on your last build12 update (9-11 + small update).
I have added some new locations, stores, fake forts (by using the good CCC method) and i've updated the random trade quest generator for the existing new towns and it seems it works. I have also added new locations (by cloning of course) on Cayman <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I also succeeded in creating a random treasure quest generator and it seems work fine for the moment <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

I hope i could make a Package for upload soon.

I've uploaded a small update for the new islands mod on the ftp...
This update is compatible with the last pieter postbuild 12 update (18th september) and add some new locations and new stuffs.

BTW: Where/How do you start a random treasure quest? And I see a lot of dialog files that I don't know where they're used: carpenter, lair crewmember, etc. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
random treasure quest can be start with the land encounters ! Like that, the quest is no so easy to be started ! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
