New Location-specific Loading Screens

This project has been finished at last -unless we want to redo or add any screens- and all shots can be found in this thread.
So for Build 14 Beta 2, we'll now have a proper consistent look for all loading screens throughout.
Additionally, there'll be no more town names on the screens.
Therefore, the screens will be correct no matter the time period and regardless of whether Real Caribbean is on or off.

Additionally I renamed all loading screens, which required a lot of search-and-replace in the location init files.
I did check it all, but with hundreds of locations, I can easily have made some mistakes.
So the more people can play with this, the better it is.
That way we can uncover any potential mistakes of mine and fix them before we release Build 14 Beta 2.

The files for the game are available here: http://www.pyratesahoy.com/build/b14_beta2_wip/location_loading_screens.exe (53.8 MB)
Extract to your main game folder, then run Rename.bat; intended for Build 14 Beta 1 Patch 4.
This will replace all location init files and the full loading screen textures folder with the new and renamed versions.
New game required for the changes to take effect properly.

Please try these files and provide as much feedback as you can. :doff

ORIGINAL OPENING POST:
----------------------------------------------------------

Here's a new challenge for our members: Make screenshots that can be used for the loading screens in Build 14! Some locations don't have loading screens at all, some have outdated or wrong ones. Also with the Real Caribbean mod, all original game's towns will be renamed. So this means we will be needing new loading screens for almost all locations. You don't need to add any text; just make the screenshots and post them here. Then I will add the text to ensure all loading screens are in the same style.

Some tricks for making good loading screens:
- Use sidestep to move to ordinarily inaccessible places for interesting angles
- Use 1st person mode (press tab)
- Enable free camera mode* (press tab twice)
- Pay attention to the characters walking around and the ships anchored in port

* To enable free camera mode, open PROGRAM\Locations\locations_camera.c and set locCameraEnableFree = true; at the top of the file.

Please post all screenshots in this thread. If multiple people make a screenshot for the same location, we will vote on which one we'll be using. However, I'd recommend everybody to first make screenshots of those locations we don't have screenshots for yet. After all, in the end we'll need screens for all locations.

Also make sure that you base your screenshot on the most up-to-date version of the location. For example: Anigua has been changed by CouchcaptainCharles to use the AoP St. Eustatius model and Douwesen has been retextured by Thomas the Terror.

...
* To enable free camera mode, open PROGRAM\Locations\locations_camera.c and set <i>locCameraEnableFree = true;</i> at the top of the file.

That doesn't seem to work.

i think a post was lost where i posted a screen for isla de muerte. it's still in my attachements, in my profile.

But the attachments don't work anymore either. Can't even open my own.

here you go again then.

I still want more screenshots, you know? It's not THAT hard to make them... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/user_comment.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="user_comment.gif" />

well, not all screenshots are as usable as i'd like. there a few that are actually good to use for loading screens. i'll make some when i get to antigua some time. that one really needs them.

Yes, it does. But so do all other towns now.
So: EVERYBODY PLEASE MAKE SCREENSHOTS OF ALL TOWNS!!!

What do I have to do to get you people to make those screenshots? We'll be needing them and I really <i>can't</i> do everything by me onesy... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/user_comment.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="user_comment.gif" />

Yes they do. The stock game towns are being replaced, so anything that says "Greenford", "Oxbay", "Douwesen", etc. would be out of place. Not to mention that with the Capture Colonies mod you can rename towns at random. So I want to have loading screens for all towns with just the text "Town" or "Port" on them so that they can work for that location no matter what it's called. But we do need new screenshots for that.

The towns do, the ports don't. Any loading screen that has the town name in text on it needs to be replaced.

For the sake of having the screen be appropriate for the location, no matter what the location is called. The same town might have a different name depending on whether the Real Caribbean mod is on, the time period, the selected storyline or a rename after a capture. So having loading screens that don't have the town name on them could work for any name.

Seriously people! It's not THAT hard to make screenshots, but I can't be expected to do everything on my own. PLEASE HELP!

i'm not playing right now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> almost all screens i have aren't made in first person.

Well SOMEBODY has to be playing the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
