but i have a problem, after i install build alpha 7+ i can´t see my sails in 3D mode.
can someone help me ?

Did you install Build 14 Alpha 7 first? Also a word of warning: Alpha 7 and Alpha 7 Plus are not exactly stable. Alpha 6 is still the most playable Alpha version.
 
8 files in your sails folder? That's not good. Probably there is a postinstall.exe file in your main directory. Run it and see if that fixes anything.

I've reinstall PotC for some reasons (new Hardware) and I install Alpha 7, too.
Same problem here. No sails in 3D Mode. And no sails to choose either in Ship Menu.

In Buildsettings.h I use the "Weathered Sails" Option (I think it was Option 2 by default). I have only the following sails in "Textures/Ship/Sails" folder.

So I think there is something missing in the "sails" folder.

Which sails did you use for the "Weathered Sails" Option?
Do you use the PotBS Sails or the AOP Sails as the default Sails?

"Postinstall.exe" can't be used because there are missing Parameters.

And I can't find the the file names of the sails in the "Ships" or "Sails" folder that were shown in the "Ship" Menu in Game.

In that case, try moving all sail files from your RESOURCE\SHIPS folder to the \sails subfolder and see if that does any good.
By default the PotBS sails are used. These are the weathered sails.
 
Copying the sails from resource/textures/ships to /sails folder resolve only a few of the missing sails.

But you're right, the missing files are still there in the "Ships" folder. But they didn't copy to "Sails" folder automaticly and the files have the wrong file names.
So I do it by hand and that resolve the problem. All sails where back in action after copying and renaming the files.

These are the files from the "Ships" folder that have to copy into "Sails" folder and should be renamed.

Normal Sails:
From "Ships" folder take <b>parus_common.tga.tx</b>
copy to
"Sails" folder and rename it to <b>sail_parus_whole_white_plain.tga.tx</b>
Black sail is missing but I create one for my own then copy to "Sails" named <b>sail_parus_whole_black_plain.tga.tx</b>


Pure White Sails:
From "Ships" folder take <b>sail_aop_common.tga.tx</b> or <b>sail_aop_plain.tga.tx</b>
copy to
"Sails" folder and rename it to <b>sail_purewhite_plain.tga.tx</b>


Weathered Sails:
From "Ships" folder take <b>sail_potbs_plain.tga.tx</b>
copy to
"Sails" folder and rename it to <b>sails_weathered_plain.tga.tx</b>

Special Sails:
From "Ships" folder take <b>sail_barbarossa.tga.tx</b>
copy to
"Sails" folder and rename it to <b>sail_barbarossa_plain.tga.tx</b>

From "Ships" folder take <b>kam_catalansails.tga.tx</b>
copy to
"Sails" folder and rename it to <b>kam_nologosails.tga.tx</b>

Still beats me why the postinstall.exe program doesn't work. It works fine for me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
What should that Postinstall.exe do?
I have problems with that before so I didn't used it on the last installation and the Alpha 7 run well anyway. I tested it yesterday after the problem with the sails and got a message that a Parameter is missing.

It moves a bunch of files to the right place. It would do the same as a batch file. If you can't run it, I see trouble occurring, because then some ships will have the wrong name which could cause CTDs at sea.
