Ahoy mates after a <i>long</i> "voyage at sea". School is great and has finally begun to wind down as I prepare to graduate this May. Hopefully I'll be going to the Virginia Military Institute on a Navy ROTC scholarship... just gotta see if the scholarship pulls through.
In other news, I've taken a year's worth of 3D modeling classes and have 3ds Max 9 on my Dell Studio 15 Laptop with Vista. I've already made a model of K-19 for Ubisoft's Silent Hunter 4 Cold War Mod over at SUBSIM.com, so I feel that I can now tackle a tougher project.

<i>Old Ironsides</i> is in game now... perhaps I shall model the <i>Bonhomme Richard</i>?

Commodore! Welcome back! Any ships that are made are welcome as far as I'm concerned, even paddlesteamers (maybe we can work those in somehow).
Just not aircraft carriers and old Egyptian boats; they should fit at least somewhat into our time periods. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Has anybody ever considered making the Santa Maria/Pinta/Niña? Just as a suggestion of some smaller earlier-period ships. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

BTW: We have Maya + plugin available and working and that is definitly recommended for putting ships into the game properly with collision detection and without reversed lighting error.
