Thanks! It is strange that I can see this in Gm viewer, but not in Tool. It is also twice the size of the original but it looks fine in game.

@ Pieter, I took time from my quest work to try to get the Brig_rey_3d.gm to reverse/reverse light but I can't.

Can you point me to the fixed inside-out file? I want to try exporting/importing that one with the TOOL and see if it makes any difference.

[attachment=2628:light_bu...1_rey_d3.zip]

Remember:
1. It will look inside-out in Gm_view.
2. It will look rightside out on the Brig once the rey_d3 locator value XX on mast 3 is set to -1.
3. And of course it has to show lighting properly.

I'll try to remember to give this a try as soon as possible; at the latest Saturday.

Oh FOR GOD'S SAKE! With all the server-changes, now I can't download the attachment anymore. Can you please put the file on the PotC Files FTP? Renewed login details can be found <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?act=announce&f=37&id=13" target="_blank">here</a>. Since I didn't have the time yesterday and can't get the file today, it'll probably end up being Friday before I can try anything. Agh! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

So that means that all our attachments are messed up?

Will we get them back?

I have no idea; better ask Keith. Probably not; wouldn't be the first time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Uhm... Petros? Can you please upload that rey file again? Keith fixed the attachments, but in the process, apparently all old ones were lost. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Thanks Petros! Good luck the next week then and hope to see you again afterwards. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />
I'll try to get something done with that rey. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

It seems that rey_d3 is not used by the original Privateer; it's named rey_d4 instead.
What I tried to do was to export the correct inside-out rey_d3 (renamed to rey_d4) to VRML, then import it in the TOOL again.
The problem, however, is that when importing it in the TOOL, the rey has been turned by 90 degrees. Does anyone have any idea how to recitify that? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Try attached version. Thomas the Terror managed to do what the TOOL refused to on my computer:
1 - Export file to VRML
2 - Import VRML file with "Ship/Location" and "swap X Y" enabled
3 - Save as GM again

This deliberately introduces the "reverse lighting bug", but does look good if you set the XX value to -1.
It does appear you lose the smoothing groups (rey looks a bit blocky), but that's better than inside-out or apparent reversed lighting.
