Somali pirates have released the Italian tug boat Buccaneer after receiving a $4 milliion dollar ransom. The Buccaneer was hijacked on April 11 and has a crew of 16 sailors, all of which are reported in good shape after the ordeal. There were also reports over the weekend of some fighting between a couple of Somali pirate factions on land. Maybe the weather and the naval forces haven't been the only thing keeping them off the sea. The weather should be breaking in the next couple of weeks, and unfortunately, that will mean a rise in piracy in the region.

Live Piracy Report

The IMB Live Piracy Report displays all Piracy and Armed Robbery incidents reported to the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre in the last ten days.
