Spoiler Reanabling CHEATS aka Debugwindow in German and UK Version

I added/modified these lines:

ch.skill.freeskill = 30;
ch.Skill.FreeSPECIAL = 30;
ch.perks.freesperks = 30;

instead of:

ch.skill.freeskill = 0;
ch.Skill.FreeSPECIAL = 0;

btw

if you do this, do your cheats, hit escape to goto menu and can reset your controls to default, that switches your keys from debug mode back to game mode and can move and function normally.

you will lose the console option tho but you can still enable the general cheats from the F11 screen after you reset controls they will not change back to debug mode at all.

beyond that i not noticed any bugs when i have messed around with cheats period. no crashes other than the occasional non cheat related ctd or me changing the wrong field modding the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

Philippe, did you managed to add perk points? Skill points and attribute points worked like a charm. The perk part didn't.

Now to that what i have found out!

I had been looking in the open Program folder of AoP 2 and i have figured out how to
reaktivate the Debugorders in Game.

This Tut is for all people who maybe getting tired that they get killed by NPC every 5 minutes lol.
(depending on difficult level they have choose at the beginning)

Now the tutorial step by step.

1. open AoP 2 folder
2. open engine.ini and set debugwindow = 0 to debugwindow = 1
3. close and save the file then go into program folder
4. open up _mod_on_off.h
5. set betatestmode function to on (on means there Dev version of the game)
6. close and save the file
7. start a new Game

Now if you hit F 11 during gameplay a windows is popping up that allows you for example to
switch between GOD Mode.

PS: Maybe this should be made sticky <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> of course.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

am i able to save after ive done a quest so it just wont go back later on and have to do it again? (its happend to me but at that time i didnt have the debugwindow on 1 i still had it on 0)

now if only i could get the cheat console working i never been able to get that to pop up and i tried every key on the keyboard F5 don't do anything.

Hey Cerebus23

if you do it like i have wrote you should be able to open up the Debugwindow by hitting the F11 button on
your keyboard!! I have figured out and it is confirmed by other people who had tried it like i have done.

you have done ALL my steps i have write in my little tutorial????
be sure you also have saved the files!!!! if you do not.... it would not work for ya.... of course.
CHECK if you have activated the fileprotection in your AoP 2 folder.... if it is remove it and the changes
they you want to make to the files will be saved and then it should work....

that is the only clue i can give you right now.....
just read this thread and you will see that its definatly work.

hope this help you out

so long

yea F11 works, but in the russian version F5 opens a windows where you can put text cheats in

During the game press button [F5] so that the window of console would appear.
You introduce into left line one of that point out belowed it [chit] the codes:

LAi_SetImmortal (pchar, true) - is made itself you and your ship invulnerable,
but not your officers and their ships
LAi_SetImmortal (pchar, false) - strictly, is disconnected the immortality
AddMoneyToCharacter (pchar, <>) - to obtain indicated stake. the money
GiveItem2Character (pchar, “[khkhkh]”, <>) - to obtain the quantity indicated
the objects of [khkhkh], where this xxx:

<a href="http://www.chemax.ru/cheats/C/city_of_abandoned_ships.php" target="_blank">http://www.chemax.ru/cheats/C/city_of_abandoned_ships.php</a>

but the text line in the F11 window will not take the cheats listed on that page, saying that is not a valid location, so something is locked off in other versions.

Hey cerebus23

if you do my tutorial steps then you have in the debugwindow also a line where you can put in the commands
but you don 't have to just use the buttons they are shown in the debugwindow.

they are explained there very well...... and it works
for example hit F11 to open up the Debugwindow then hm maybe you click F10 to set your char invulnerable.
then you close the debugwindow by hit the X and thats it.... the cheats work.....
there are many other buttons you can hit also just try out .... but i had always explained this in my tutorial...
so what exactly do you want to do with the commandline in the top???

so long

well the text commands you can add items, set ships crew numbers, manually change perks, stats etc etc. can add any item in the game to you or your ship. know it would come in handy because i hate reloading 20 times just to see if i added an item correctly. or if you say missed a drop on a quest and needed the itme cause the game thinks you finished it but the npc you need to talk to does not.

the item add codes are just darn handy in general.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

well Cerebus23 i have no idea how to get your "wishes" work in the Debugwindow..... i am sorry.
Just try to type the CHEAT commands into the textbox and confirm them with Enter and close the Debugwindow
by hitting the X .... thats the only clue i can give you for this... sorry. I suppose you just play a little bit
with the debugwindow and try out what works and was not....

I only had made this little turorial to show how to get the cheats to work not more....
i have not messed up with every command what should be possible....

yea i tried all that, only way i can cheat items in is modify debugger.c to add them via the function button cheats. if you try to enter anything in the debugger window it will not accept it as being and invalid location, that chat window seems locked into being able to teleport to maps for testing only.

Did you manage it to create a button for adding items? If yes, could you post the lines you programmed, please? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
Unfortunately i have to cheat an item to keep my chances to solving a quest -.-

^like that just search the items describe text for what you need.

Thanks for your script, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
but are you sure that it works this way? I mean in your lines 12 & 13

GiveItem2Character(mc,"Blade35");
GiveItem2Character(mc,"Mineral2");

other Items are described, so what did happen when you tried it, if you tried it...^^
I took a look at the debugger file and was wondering why i could just see about 4 buttons described there although there are about 20 programmed buttons in the debugwindow. Does anyone have an idea?

"blade35" is my in game katana sword i think i replaced the garbage "claymore" sword since there was 2 claymores in game.

"mineral2" is the lute guitar.

about your debugger window there should be function buttons function F1 through F30. the debugger.c (i think there is two of them btw) the correct one has all the scripts that are bound to those function buttons. F26 and F27 in the debugger.c file and in the console are blank there is no function assigned to them so those are the 2 i edit.

you would replace the F27 section in your file with my script and change and add the "items" to what you want to cheat in if you used the code exactly as i provided you would get a garbage sword and guitar <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. so you have to modify the script using the itemsdescribe.txt to find the name of the items you want.

do backup the file you are modding in case you mess up, if you only see 4 function buttons in your debugger file i think you opened the wrong one.

correct file should be in
YOUR DRIVE:\Program Files\Playlogic\Age of Pirates 2\Program\INTERFACE
