[REL] Diego Espinosa (Dark Reskin)

Zalioth

Sailor Apprentice
THIS IS NOT ORIGINALLY MINE, THIS IS JUST A CONVERSION TO THE ENGLISH VERSION. ORIGINALLY MADE BY "Destynar" FROM THE SEAWARD.RU FORUMS.

<img src="http://destynar.by.ru/Shares/espinosa1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://destynar.by.ru/Shares/espinosa2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://destynar.by.ru/Shares/espinosa4.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><img src="http://destynar.by.ru/Shares/espinosa3.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Ok, this is it, tested and working fine. If anyone else thinks that the white clothes don't really fit a pirate's life, here you have a darker tone for your shady version of Diego Espinosa ^^.

I haven't done anything but taking it out from the russian forums so we can have it here accessible thus, no credit for me <img src="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> .

Enjoy!

Excellent work, Zalioth!

Thank you!

It was Destynar's work, I just rehosted it here so we can have it acessible. But thanks for the appreciation <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> .

We should try and have a little library (sticky thread) with all these little mods ^^.

Anyway, most of these little mods were made a year ago, and the russian hosting services where they placed them are starting to get rid of them... if not already done... I just need to provide a durable solution.

Ooooh, I like that! I didn't pick Diego because the white clothes make him look totally gay, this is much better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Noob question... what I need to edit the textures? I have seen it´s #######.tga.tx but I don´t know how to oppen them. I´m familiarized with PhotoShop and with TGA format since my times of GP4 modding times, but seems that removing temporarily the las ".tx" is not enough. Any extra tool needed?

<b>BEST REGARDS</b>

You need TXConvertor, Tahlendorf. Its available in the tools section. I'll get a link to that section added to our stickies hopefully later today.

The textures are in a proprietary compression format, you have to use that tool both to make it editable in your chosen graphic program, then convert it back to the .tx version for the game to use it.

Good skin! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> I actually like the way that Diego's outfit has been made and drawn. It's just fantastic! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> But me too found it bit out of place when Diego being a pirate with those white clothes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> Good thing they didn't loose those nice golden parts of the outfit.. that's the main charm of that outfit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> And with that black he fits to be a pirate/corsair just fine. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I'm gonna try the skin in my game to see it with me advanced Nvidia graphics. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Yeah I thought just that, that's why I grabbed it and I've put it here so soon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> .

Sorry for the Off-Topic but... does TXConverter works on Vista?
I´ve downloaded it, unzipped it, openned it, looked into the CoAS textures folders and....... it shows NOTHING.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
<a href="http://img29.imageshack.us/i/sshot57.png/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8420/sshot57.th.png" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
I´ve tried to run it wid Admin rights, in XP SP2 Compatibility mode.... without results

<b>BEST REGARDS</b>

It works kind of screwy, Tahlendorf.

The window on the right is the window that you work from.

Do your conversions there.

The window on the left should show the basic .tga files without any compression.

Hope that helps some.

Cap'n Drow

I were working on the left side.... <img src="http://www.gp4-argentina.com/forums/images/smilies/zdash2.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />... thanks, now it shows the TGAs on the right side... word-joke?

<b>BEST REGARDS</b>

It shows them because it can read them even in the .tx format. You'll notice on the right the files have a TX icon while on the left they have a TGA icon. You work by finding the file you want to convert in the right window, selecting it, then finding the destination where you want the file to be uncompressed to in the left window, you click convert, and a new tga file appears in the destination. It works the exact same way the other way around.

Exactly, Sordid. The righthand window is for .tx files, the left hand for .tga and the tool in the middle for converting between the two formats.

Hi

I just wanted to know if its hard to reskin the exisiting units? Do you need to have some 3d modeling experience?

No you don't. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />
