Dont get me wrong JPJ, i like the design of a 74 ship of the line, but i dont think that the big ships have been properly implemented in AoP. A 80 gun battleship is a real piastre sink, because of its huge design it gets hit a LOT (in fact a frigate can take more punishment because of its smaller design), causing insane repair costs. Plus you cant really maneuver these things. I would take two frigates over one 80 gun ship of the line/battleship anytime particularly because AoP frigates can be armed with 24 pounders.

my opinion is to make all ships upgrated to 18 century, that's much better, even a small ship has back cabin rooms.

i want santissima trinidad!!! and vitoria!!!!!!!!!! the flag ships, with more than 100 guns, used for colony assualt.

wrong mate, if they can earn some money from it they will make an expansion like Commodore John Paul Jones said if they know something about capitalism, look some games (elder scrolls III., AOE, Rise of nations, etc.)

i agree that they need only some motivation that they can smell money in this...

Hi John Paul Jones,

I propose we make a 74 gunner for each country.

Though here is my suggestion:

For British 74 gunners, 32 pounders on the lower deck and 24 or 18 pounders on the upper deck.

For Spanish 74's, 24 pounders on the lower deck, 18 pounders on the upper deck.

For French 74's, 36 pounders on the lower deck and 24 pounders on the upper deck.

And to really spice things up, I would love to see the 1781 USS America 74 gunner.

The armament could be the original 24 pounders on lower deck and 18 pounders on the upper deck. OR you could rearm the ships just Like John Paul Jones planed when the french 74 went down and he wanted to swap it's 36 pounders for America's first 74 ! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Here we have a Juicy Spanish 74 gunner

And here is the finest sailing Spanish 112 gunner vessel. Great sailer and famous for her dual with the Royal Sovereign in the Battle of Trafalgar:

That's another thing that needs to be modded, we need different caliber guns on each deck, after all, it's not too different from PotC and someone I know who has the russian version told me you'll have the same guns on each deck.

I would find that interesting. To be able to look below and see guns larger than the ones topside. We dearly need a USS <i>America</i>... but what I really would love to see is the <i>Bonhomme Richard</i>!!!

Hi Commodore John Paul Jones,

I have some good sources for images of the true Bonhomme Richard that would be excellent for models in the game.

You know which ship would be a very good addon?...the USS Constellation, one of the best frigates the Us ever had. Or maybe the Constitution? hmmmmm......Maybe we should ask everybody's opinion and see what ships everyone wants.

Yes, it seems we do need the USS Constitution and perhaps the Constellation as well.

I say perhaps because alot of people mistakenly believe the Constellation from the 1790's and that captured a French Frigate in the Quasi Americans war is the ship in Baltimore.

That is not true.

The original frigate was destroyed and a few years later the "sloop of war" Constellation was built.

Very differant. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
