I just installed AoP on a fresh completely updated system (specs below), but all of the sounds stutter in-game. My system far exceeds the minimum requirements (my processor is the only thing that doesn't exceed the recommended, but only by 200MHz [according to rating]) and all other games and sound/music files work flawlessly on my computer (TES: Oblivion, Half-Life 2, MoH: Pacific Assault, Road to Hell: Boiling Point, etc.), and playing the sounds from the sound directory of AoP in Windows works fine as well, no stuttering.
My system is as follows:
OS: Windows XP Pro (genuine, fully updated)
Processor: AMD Athalon 2100+ (1.73GHz rated at 2.1GHz)
Video: nVidia GeForce 6600
RAM: 1.5GB DDR 333MHz
Motherboard: MSI KT4V with intergrated AC'97 Audio
Essentially, when someone is speaking for example, it sounds more like "H-e-e-l-l-o-o C-C-a-a-p-p-t-t-a-a-i-i-n-n, h-h-o-o-w-w a-a-r-r-e-e- y-y-o-o-u-u?" I've tried both the official 1.5 patch on a fresh install and the Supermod on a fresh install - same problem. When I uninstall the game each time, I delete the Playlogic directory and run a registry cleaner to get rid of any AoP entries that may conflict. I've updated all drivers (sound, video, motherboard, etc.) and have a 100% up-to-date BIOS. I've tried running AoP with nothing at all (minus explorer and the system services) in the background as well.
Anyone have any ideas?
