spacebar doesn't work...

All of a sudden I can't fire my cannons! Trying to kill the english fleet at Greenford, and my spacebar works intermittantly or not at all. Help! Haven't had many bugs up til now and I'm hoping there's any easy fix.

I'm running a unmodified `from-the`-box game.

try fire manuel ...... it sometimes happen to me ....
then I go 1.person on deck, and aim / fire manual.

JSJ has it right, firing manually will get the job done - there are a lot of factors that weigh into whether you can use the spacebar to fire - including the proximity of a ship that is either neutral or your own ally...
