8: You wake up and are talked to by sailor and you must go to tavern to see the injured Simpson and the dying Clayton

9: You go to Kingston and you are met by Keane in his cabin who tells you to meet Pellew in townhall

10: meet Pellew and go to Indy

11: meet Boatswain Mathews, Styles and the others

12: Attack French Graff-Schooner off of St. Martin

13: You are given command of it and must sail it to Kingston

14: ship sinks in storm, and you escape on tartane and picked up by Indy

16: sail to Speightstown and ancor off of Grey Rock Bay and pick up wreckage of Justinian (survivors include of Keane and Simpson)

17: You must sail a tartane with a boarding crew along side the french corvette "Volcano" and begin boarding with Simpson and Mathews (Archie is unconsious)

18: Brief duel with Simpson

19: capture Volcano and meet up with Indy

20: Recapture Speighstown from French

21: Duel with Simpson on Beach

22: Dropped off at Port Cayman to take command of grain barque

23: sail grain Barque to St. Johns Port

24: Go to Admiralty to take exam

25: sabatouge fireship

26: Sail to Boca Yumon on Hispaniola and ambush French patrol

27: Capture French brig and make for Kingston townhall

35: Saved by Indy

36: return to San Juan and meet Admiral

37: Sail to Charlestown to pick up troops

38: Sail to Martinique Octapus Bay

Thanks for the suggestions, dont be surprised though if SJG doesnt change his storyline ;)

Us storyline coders generally dont like changing things haha :rofl

I'm going to assume that you're basing your ideas off the TV movies/series which in some aspects differ from the books.
I'm started reading Mr Midshipman Hornblower recently after having watched the series.
In the books Hornblower was never knocked out and attended the duel.

I'd suggest also reading the books, at least Mr Midshipman Hornblower and Lieutenant Hornblower.

Read all of them! :shock
Seriously, the stories are brilliant and very witty and intelligent, as are the characterizations and historical context.
However, the books are also written in a very engaging way so rather than it being a chore to plow through them
(I'm looking at you, Master and Commander series!!!), they read away very nicely.
Don't be surprised to still find yourself reading at 04:00 in the morning! :razz

The first four Hornblower films were all based on the first book(!!!), Mr. Midshipman Hornblower.
Since they're all based on short stories, the films' stories were expanded rather than truncated.
They were also modified in some spots, most notably in the duel affairs, which take place quite differently in the book.
I think I prefer the book version of those events since it's the more clever, though the movie is pretty good too.

Mutiny and Retribution together form the story of the second book, Lieutenant Hornblower.
Again, there's expansion and modifications going on and the book is actually told from the perspective of Mr. Bush too.

Loyalty and Duty are very loosely based on the events of the third book, Hornblower and the Hotspur,
but while some story elements remain, the final result is basically completely different from that book.

Then there's the original old film called Captain Horatio Hornblower, which is based on the three books that were written first
(the Hornblower books were like the Star Wars movies, only worse when it came to the order in which they were created).
This movie contains the story of The Happy Return, A Ship of the Line and Flying Colours condensed into one 2-hour movie,
while never feeling rushed because the script was written by C.S. Forester himself, who clearly knew what he was doing.

In the end, I dare say the Hornblower series is one of the few "franchises" that, as far as I'm concerned,
has resulted in only high-quality material. The books are complete and utter brilliance,
while the Captain Horatio Hornblower film is a very succesful adaption of the stories to become a wonderful adventure movie.
The newer TV serie movies do have a rather different take on the subject in that they contain more drama and less adventure,
but are quite worthwhile on their own as well, helped by the fact that they're neither a carbon-copy of the books,
nor an incoherent mess caused by truncating the stories of the books in a failed fashion.

Here's a suggestion for this storyline:

Short Jack Gold, I reckon you could use particle effects "blast" and "fort_fire" for explosions taking place, instead of "blast_inv" and "cancloud".
These effects are the same that are used when you throw a handgrenade and I think they can look more spectacular than the "white clouds".

Looking at it. :onya
