I sorry i have to agree with Inzane. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
when making new ships scratch it is not just the internet.
it is many many long some times frustate hours of hard work just to complete modeling and textures mapsing.
i have been work several hours a day for a month now on my bermuda sloops an just now have oine of them to the point to try to go to next stage of many hours of hard work to try to get in the game.
an i know that eeven with help will probly noy be easy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
so no is noy just the internet

Inzane please reconsider and have a cheers to you! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

OK Guys,you need to keep in mind this is a modding COMMUNITY,respect others opinions wether you agree or not,name calling and insulting other members is unacceptable behaviour on these forums,this is the second time I've had to delete and edit posts this week in the modding forum,please do not force further actions

Thats It! its finished, no more, at least not for the time being, i am sad to report that ther probability of a ship release from me(refitted surprise and my own sloop) is only a 45% probability.

Ive tried for 4 days now, with Milkshape3D, "3d studio max 8" and with no results, the lighting anomaly still remains no matter what i do, flipping faces and all that does not seem to work, so there are 3 options.

1.) ships are put on the shelf forever since i can no way afford a program like Maya(3dsmax is just 30 day trial)
2.) Somone who has successfully gotten a ship from Milkshape or 3dsmax 100% tells me what to do
or
3.) Somone who can get ships successfully into PoTC converts the ship into the game for me.

I am going to try some more with your model today. I really hope I'll be able to do something useful for her. Would be a shame to lose such a nice model. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

good sailing to you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Well first off,If I am to keep making models.The noobs without a clue how to get a ship in game need to keep their negative comments to themselves.This goes for the PMs I got. When I first started making this ship there where diffrent faces around here and I made this for them.Sadly they moved on to other things.but there are still some of the old crew around.We all seen many good ships come and go, never to be released.And I made a promise and stuck to it.So in the future lets not be rude.And act like adults. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> We have alot to look forward to.AOP for one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> and I also heard that the American version will have the program file open <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> And yes I have plans for AOP.There will be alot of planning ahead.I already started making parts for new ships ships wheels cannons of all types.and many other things that can be used on diffrent ships without haveing to keep remodeling them.
So lets keep look forward and stay on path.And most important not to be rude to the old timers who have poured alot of time into this game.Cheers to them!!!

amen! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />:

Currently I been working on the parts kit.what it is is prefabed parts for details for the deck And diffrent sets of correct masts.pretty much on the scale of POTBS.I am doing this mostly for the advances with AOP game engine.I just recently invested alot of money on several 3d apps to do this.All future texturing will be on the professional level.
alot of you dont know the Surprise was built 2 years ago.So what ever mistakes are on her are 2 years old.I made other ships after her that work 1000 times better with the POTC engine.The Surprise was the first stable model I got in game.Stable enough to release to the public, The ones I built before had many issues.So now I can focus on building the models the way I want them.And less worrying about is the Gm plugin gonna boot it out.I always wanted to push for more detail on the ships but not at the cost of FPS.

That's very exciting. Are you done modding PotC then, or just for AoP?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Well I like to still work on both.I have a copy of Russian version of AOP.I been tinkering around with it And was able to get the frigate running.All I have to say is the new cannon effects rock!! So what I figured out so far ,They are still using the same tools. So our modding tools still work.So maya 4.5 and the plugin <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> you guys are gonna love AOP.And the multiplayer part is what I will be playing the most .That alone is gonna draw more folks to it.

Hey is it possible to edit locators visually? like over a diagram or something and not just in numbers? because i kind of want to add some more sails to the Surprise <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->that could be done.you load it as a background in the 3d app and scale it to the right size and perspective.I used a image to scale the masts and their positions.I did think the same thing for rigging and ratlines.but could not find a good clear image.

how do the locator coordinates work, do they use some kind of universal 3d coordinate system?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I don't know how they work in other 3d apps. In maya they are little points you are able to move to the spots you want them.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
I have uploaded to ftp, folder "separate ship+walk Inzane's Surprise." <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
With this you can have separate walk file for inzane's Surprise, and for "normal frigate1".
In my Example ship init.c i have inzane's Surprise as frigate4. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
Bye CapHawk <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
ps. my personal inzane's Surpris has some rigging changes made but i will upload it to ftp only
with his legitimate approbation. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
To seb Fine ship skin <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
