Texturing Moder's Code List

Vassal Sgt. Steiner has 80 already :yes

Please Look at the List and choose a number that is not taken. :blah::

:blah:
Can i have 85 please?
And i've got a question : how can i add me new character skin to the game without ecrase an already character?

Copy the model and head model, rename, hexedit to point to the new texture, make a new *.ani file with the new model's name but point to the old model's an.

Oki Adding ya to the List, the Moder's Code is there so that ya don't "ecrase" (C'est Francais ca) the old model too <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Hello there, I am new to modding but feel that I should get me self a number as I am now delving into texture stuff. If it is alright with you, I would prefere: 83. If that works, awsome!

Hello Jack, this is a Moder's Code system, so that anyone making Skins or textures for the Game can have Unique Files (It is explained in the Retexturing tutorial), if done like that, there is not file conflicts or files being over written.

It applies for both new Models (Ships etc), and Textures.

Lets say I make(my code is _08) some new deck.tga files used by several different ships...

I could call the file: da08.tga, db08.tga, dc08.tga

Then another person with code 01 makes their own deck.tga reskin.

they could call it da01.tga

The files would never conflict with eachother because the Code is unique to a specific moder.

Same goes for Ingame Models, if you want to make a new Xebec for instance.

Akella uses the Xebec1, Xebec2, Xebec3 system...

With a moder's code you can name the folder Xebec1_08, Xebec2_08, Xebec3_08

That way different Ships from different moders do not overwritte eachother if you download them and install them in to your game.

And you also get to keep the originals from Akella that way no need to create backup copies or reinstall the game should you wish to restore originals that have been overwritten.

just saw it .... taken ..... when 02/03 is taken too ...
can i have 01 ......
i'm begining to make my ships as eg. b*brig3_01.*
thx in adv.
