mind you, i've never made anything. but i have heard something about a bug being caused if you made the model with the arms down. an inexplainable bug, of course, as usual.
 
I don't think anybody has a real answer to your question, because I have never ever seen a completely new character model being put properly into the game. The only thing we ever managed to do is modify existing ones. If you have a look at the normal PotC character models, they have their arms down, but the AoP ones have their arms up. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Well this is what I'm working on at the moment. A while ago I asked if I should make a Inspector Gadget model as a sort of joke and I was reading the topic a week ago and I thought "Why not?" I'm most of the way through it I've just got a few more things to do on it.

1. I'm a <b><u>HUGE</u></b> Inspector Gadget fan
2. You've got to have some silliness or life can be a bit dull
3. I wanted to see if I can make a good Gadget model
(in the Tardis' case I'm a <b><u>HUGE</u></b> Doctor Who fan)

funniest cross i've seen in ages...imagin if he were a hidden character? he could act as a salesman of rare and valuable gear. "gadgets". such as the Blunderbuss, Shotgun and the likes...

Does anyone know how to apply textures to character models and how to arrage the animation skeleton? Because if I find out how to do those 2 things My Inspector Gadget model will be on the FTP today or tomorrow!!! Yahoo!!!
I've finished the model and have managed to export it from Maya, I just need to texture it and figure out how to get the skeleton to be attached to the arms.

i apologise for bringing up yet ANOTHER old topic, but as stated in other places, i feel it'd clutter the forums to make a new topic just to ask a simple question

Well, here we go

I've been trying to get the new Flying Dutchman model recently. i downloaded the Dutchman from bonjourmonami's file on the FTP, and placed it in game. i noticed several parts of it lacked graphics. most notably on the figurehead. the arm the scythe is attached to, as well as the skeleton and skull lacked textures. at the time i had also asked elsewhere about the model, and was told by Pieter to go to ZarethPL's FTP folder. when i went there, i only found one GM file for the Dutchman. so i downloaded and installed it in hopes it'd fix the problem. to check, i started up the GM viewer. lo and behold, the ship is textureless. my guess is the model's been adjusted between them, with Zareth's being the newer. but my problem now is: how do i fix my texture problem?
 
ZarethPL's is a completely different version; seems to not be there anymore though.
Easiest way to get it: just download Build 14 Alpha 9. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
