This is most irritating - missions bug

So my post in Tech Issues was not replied to. New question: Why have all the missions turned into "Hey, I gotta go to Tortuga for some reason, get me there in 65 days, and I'll give you 2895 gold." At least 5 guys told me this, and there were no, read NONE of the exclaimation marks that usually mark a mission-guy. Same deal in the tavern. IT is this way in every town, why? What's the deal, and has anyone seen this, and is there a fix? Haven't tried reinstalling yet, but I might try that soon.

The game is full of bugs and the game half backed! No real story to it! Get yourself PotC and play that one!!! I've given AoP away a long time ago and I gather so have a lot of other people! Wish I had better news........... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

According to the <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11169" target="_blank">thread in Technical Support</a>, some hybrid of version 1.50 and Supermod. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> This may or may not account for the odd behaviour.

Also, the game sometimes crashes at random times. If it manages to crash part way through saving a game, that saved game will be corrupt, although it may look alright at first; odd things may happen later. See my <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10336" target="_blank">thread about Men o' War</a>, in which such a corrupt saved game resulted in every ship I encountered being a man o' war - and I mean <i>every</i> ship, both at sea and in the shipyards. Try loading an earlier saved game, or starting a whole new game, and see if the mission problem persists.
