US/UK version patches?

veradin

Sailor Apprentice
Storm Modder
I noticed that seaward has at least 2 patches out for the Russian version of the game but I haven't read anything on their site about patches for the English version, so were those patches already covered in the US/UK release or are they just taking their time?

I'm referring to these, and while I speak no Russian I was directed here for the AoP 2 patches:

Euro/US release is supposed to include the patches already released. The only things we still need translated are any mods like the Hard Core mod or some of the other mods from other mod groups that include new dialogs and such.

Good to know, thanks. As many bugs as the game still has, I wonder when/if they're going to do another patch.

the euro version is patched ??? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

my CoAS has more bugs than AoP and it crashes more than AoP.
and the german translation is not acceptable.

I bought this game without making the connection between the developers and one of the worst games ever made, PoC. And I can see that they continue to produce trash, relying on unpaid serfs to finish their crappy products.

COAS for me is unplayable, and I was stunned that the cd I have claims it's vers. 1.3!!!!! Holy cow, three additional tries and you still have more bugs than a body farm?

Exchange system not working per manual. Sound dropping during combat (thus no cues) and staying dropped throughout your saves. Dancing save files (mine are wandering all over the place). The most unbalanced game play I think I've ever seen. Yes, you can get out of teh beginning, but this isn't a good experience. Quests are a catastrophe: I've tried 3 times to find a stupid anonymous pirate and every other ship in the Atlantic shows up except the one I apparently need to kill. I've never had a harder time looting bodies in a game I've played of any kind before--the sweet spot is apparently only in the crotch of a dead sailor. Loyalty rates are completely mystified: there is no clue in game or out how to keep or raise loyalty of officers. Storage ships holding your spare men and equipment for battle tend to run away from you just as you need them most, and this AFTER you've taken down your 4th effing battleship with 43 guys. There's no continuity or coherence to any sort of progression in this game--that's just bad design, not a bug. On the plus side, with enough magical elixirs, one superhero can defeat an entire army garrison by himself. And my last--but by no means final--indictment of a terrible development job, is this newsflash which I'm sure has been reported many times over: RATS DON"T EAT EFFING WEAPONS YOU IDIOT PINHEADS!

I'm not doing the modding thing. I expect the sorry jerks who got paid to produce this thing to finish the product we paid them for properly. I don't ask my neighbor to repair a malfunctioning new refridgerator, I do not expect 14 year olds working for free to repair this.

There are two things this game has done well, so I should toss a small bone to the overpaid, underqualified serfs who put this crap out: you did nicely on graphics and memory relationships and the sword fights are fun. Other than that, you probably need to learn how to, you know, make a computer game.

I expect an actual patch that addresses these issues. I'm sure that I will be disappointed.

Sorry to rant, but they need to start having warnings on products: "contents are provisional and only half completed. Purchase at your own risk."

WHile I think the concept of 24 lb cannons with silencers is amusing, FIX IT!

I also gotta remember to avoid Russian developers. Their concept of quality control and mine is galaxies apart.

tcp, I'm definitely with you on your rants!! I realize these are Mod forums but Mods should not be a "REQUIREMENT" for a game to be playable, nor should we be expected to just shut up and deal with it.

Its unfortunate that we have allowed the game (which has HUGE potential) to be marketted in any country outside of Russia without warnings and disclaimers about the state of the game. tcp has taken quite a lot of heat in several other posts I read (couldn't find them again after creating an account) and it was uncalled for. These are a public game forums and there are lots of frustrated gamers out there who were hoping for a finished fully playable game. As I stated earlier we realize this is a Mod forum but instead of the continued bashing and flaming of someone that is rightfully frustrated Moderate the post and create a new topic for frustrated rants.

Bottom line is we have purchased a BROKEN game not knowing it is broken. With some Mods this game can be fantastic but the sad truth is I will be making every effort to remove future titles from my company's product lineup by these developers. I have to deal with the returned product in my stores and am forced to take an even greater finacial loss than my single game purchase.

I didn't even think of that issue, but thanks for pointing it out. Sometimes we get so absorbed in our own experience and forget their are bigger commercial ones out there. I can't imagine what it must be like for a retailer who gets hammered by taking a chance on bulk purchase of something like this and then having to alienate customers who have a valid gripe but have to deal with the "no return, only exchange" policies and then get hacked off at the retailer.

The gaming business is in many ways in crisis and has been ever since the great Sierra fold to EA, which is without a doubt the leading culprit in what was once a proud industry. But as consumers, we've enabled the heck out of them, encouraging additional abuses to the point where now someone can "pre-sell" a game without even the slightest clue as to what they're getting. It's unfortunate that we're reduced to "stop b*tching, and stop gaming if you don't like it" from a gaggle of geese who if they approached home purchases like they do game purchases they'd wind up being homeless.

You're right tho: this game should have stayed in Russia, where I understand it plays exceptionally well.
