what ye be callin' 'er?

HMS with dutch names <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> didnt saw that one coming.

stewards? is that what they are called in english. I dont thing that dutch ships have things in front of their names, because you cant say, his ma... because we didnt have one.

well, i never put it in front anyway. it's more like this: i just follow the one which gains me the most profit. it's not like being in service, it's more like volunteerily being on that side until i dont want to anymore. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

my ship's either named Black Pearl [you know when i uswe that], Black Giant [if i use the MOW Gub], HMS Victory [originally with the MOW MM, but now reserved for when Kazeite's MOW comes out], HMS Goliath [red MOW, usually with a massive cargo hold, and ALOT of HP], HMS Defiance [usually a Frigate or Corvette], HMS Collosus [same as Goliath. used to carry my emergance cannonballs, powder, sailcloth and planks]. that basically sums it all up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />

kinda reminds me of the fleets i used to use in anno 1602. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> i would definatly call the guber manowar (which is sadly unique) the black tide! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> but i recently call my ship the 'bounty', when it's a brig or smaller. or of course the 'seablade', which i currently found again and am really happy with. it's quite a story of how i found it again.

i was sailing in a pirate designed fast schooner, when i met two heavy warships, a brigantine, and a war ship, all pirates, off the coast of santiago! sooner or later you always encounter such a fleet. especially when you have a much weaker ship. well, to make a long story short, i managed to take refuge near the fort, which did a great job by itself, disabling the brigantine by shooting one of it's masts off, making it surrender and damaging the flute and the two warships. the flute got past the fort, but i managed to intercept it and somehow sink it. the black warship went in the opposite direction to fight the fort, and near the end of the battle, was forced to surrender. unfortunatly, it was far out of range, so i was left to fight the nelson-coloured one. i intended to board it, and keeping in mind that i didn't want to loose my still weak officers, i removed them form my passengers list. unfortunatly, by sailing skill was still really low, so the warship magaed to fire a broadside on me, immediatly sinknig me in a very spectacular way indeed. i managed to escape in the lifeboat.

now, what has this to do with the seablade? i'll tell you what: i managed, with great effort, to scrape just enough (i had only 100 to 300 coins left afterwards!) money together to buy a new schooner MM. by stealing someones purse, i just managed to buy food and rum for the crew, and a basic supply of cannonballs. i even sold my pistol bullets to get enough money. well, i went to the port, and guess what! there she was!

and without doubt this could have been told in much fewer words, but it was still cool.

ARRGGGG !!!!! Ole Longjohn sails on "The Flying Dutchman" She be a grand ship, she is.

Longjohn

nah....That be Davy Jones' ship. keeper of THA KRAKEN! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />
speaking of which, has anyone started on converting one of the ships to make the Flying Dutchman? if i remember correctly, there is a galleon or something in AOP which would be perfect for the post...well, nealry. we also have the option of that Battleship that JPJ mentioned....

well, it's likely that we will take davy jones and the flying dutchman from the game that akella is making. however, this will probably take a few years, so it would indeed be nice to have a temporary version.

I sail any ship with red sails, the faded Pirates Ahoy logo, and call her "The Crimson Tide" because if I'm pirating off your coast, that's what you'll have.

ah, yes. i do that too sometimes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Never sail anyth'n bigger than a fast schooner, hit, loot an plunder than run, live te fight anuther day and I'd be call'n her "The Black Heart", named mostly after me crew <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Called my ship the "Barnacle." After all wooden ships were just floating barnacles anyway. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

i use my manowar to sink anything i meet, and if it's small and flee's i run it over. if it's too big and surrenders in time i board it. i usually take out the biggest of the fleet straight away with instant boarding. me and the black tide always act alone, and manage quite well.

bah....me Pearl....use her to chase down every man foolish enough to run, and annihilate any fool crazy enough to stand his ground! That Pearl is worth her weight in gold, she is!

i don't think it's that good actually. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> sure, it's sturdy, fast and agile, but it's really vulnerable to loosing cannons and rigging. and then it's absolutely useless.

Of course, I just captured a black Lineship with a dragon insignia on the stern. She's abeast with speed AND power. Because of the black hull, I gave her black sails. I need a name though. Black something...

Right now I just call her "The Fadded Mist". But I don't really like it. Mysterious, but not quite scary, like "The Dark Star". That's a good one, but it sounds more like a spaceship... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

What do you guys think?
