wich is your favorite pirates movie?

Thanks Fred Bob, I was too lazy to go look for it again. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />:

I cant remember the exact lines but, Eric Idle is playing a British Naval Officer and John Cleese is playing Old Blind Pew, and Eric Idle wants to know how Pew, who is blind, can be an effextive spy, to which Cleese says,

Old Blind Pew: "I have acute 'earing." <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Eric Idle's character: "I don't care about your jewelry!" <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_twisted.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_twisted.gif" />

Heh, the line goes

"I may be blind, but I have acute 'earing"

"I'm not interested in your jewelry, I'm looking for yellowbeard"

Oh, and Yellowbeard is full of good quotes and dry humor.. not really a slapstick comedy though, or as bazaar as a monty python film

It will be a very hard movie to find... it was released on vhs in 1987 and not since.. so the only copies you'll find are previously owned, and most of the preowned are old videostore copies that are in horrible condition.

Koor,
Heh, I didn't do too bad not having seen it in more than 20 years. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
I can't tell you how much I wanted to enjoy that movie, some of the best comics around, but the writing just didn't do it for me. Even Cheech couldn't save that movie by saying, "The richest man in the whole world," with a lisp.

yeah, I've read in a few reviews that people feel the part with cheech and chong was just kind of tossed together and seems to have little purpose in the movie plot but to be a place to stick their two characters.

My being 24, I saw Yellowbeard as a kid without any expectations, so to me it fits neatly in the classics category.. and has it's own little place in my heart, next to Goonies.. heh

Arr!

We Yellowbeards' are never more dangerous than when we're dead!

Love yellowbeard, too bad noone else has ever seen it, and it's been out of circulation since 1987.

Wish they'd bring it to dvd...<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Aye have been waiting for it to come out on dvd for years.

Koor,
I hear you, we all have our favorites.

Don't get me started on "Zorro the Gay Blade", that movie still kills me.

Waiter: "What can I get for you, your excellency?"

Alcalde: (Giving a rose to Bunny Wigglesworth who is dressed as a contessa) "For Margarita!"

Waiter: "Four Margaritas!"
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

HA! YES!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I *love* Yellowbeard and Zorro the Gay Blade! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> You can't find comedy like that anymore (unfortunately).

SirChristopher, just a note - next time you want to post a link from a search like that, just click the "Close Yahoo Frame" button at the top right of the page - that will give you the base site, and a much shorter URL. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
