i have so far found three bugs with the mateus santos quest:

1: when you meet ambroz bricenos for the second time after you agree to kill him, he doesn't even bother talking to you, but immediatly attacks you.

2: after you agree to kill jeffrey bampflide, (the second mission) and you exit santos' house, the quest log is updated, and you failed the quest because the months had passed. (they actually didn't, but the quest is failed nonetheless)

3: in santos' house, the battle mode is always on, while noone attacks you at all, and you can simply speak to everyone as normal.

Sir Christopher Mings should know of these. I recall the quest worked fine last time I played it. Which was quite a while ago. Please post them <a href="http://swankyplace.com/potcbugs/view.php?id=344" target="_blank">here</a> on the Bug Tracker. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Weird, might have to download Build 14 files to compare with my files to see what's going on here… <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

1. Never encountered this; didn't make any changes that would cause it to happen.

2. Encountered this when I was testing the Post Build 12 Base version that I added the Santos files to; (also determined that I couldn't get back to Bricenos in time to make Santo's deadline,)I changed the timer so you had three months to complete a mission, rather than one month as in the original. This seemed to work fine until when Santos would give you the Bampfylde mission, the quest would immediately end, and you'd get the log note that the time had run out. I asked the forum about the calendar in the game, but never got a response about whether it is stable or not.
To fix this I just blocked the timer lines out so you actually have unlimited time to complete Santos' missions. (The deadlines always struck me as being somewhat superfluous anyways…) It worked in testing, and for Pieter, don't know why it isn't working in Build 14.

3. The "fight disable" is set to on Santos' house, unless you choose the dialog option that pisses him off in your initial conversation, (because prior to setting it up I used to amuse myself by shooting him, or hitting him with my sword while he was sitting at his desk and admiring his nails.) don't know why you're getting the fight message. I would go into Santos' house while the fight message was going on in Isla Muelle, but the flashing red light didn't follow me in.

I'll see what the Build 14 questreaction.c file has to tell me....

i didn't attack santos, nor anyone else in the building, and i always chose the peacefull options. the fight mode starts at the moment when i'm in the house, no matter if there was a fight outside or not.

SIR CHRISTOPHER MINGS! Nice seeing you in these waters again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

For all I know, I added your Post Build 12 code into the Build 14 Alpha version without any modifications. So it should work the same as you intended. For all I know the timers are outcommented in Build 14 Alpha as you intended. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Not likely, from what I understand of the process the coding is merged to make a new file that contains the changes.

Pieter, Ahoy! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> Always good to catch up with you!

I did a quick side by side of my old questreaction.c and the one from Build 14, and didn't see anything new or unusual except notations, "TrackQuestMovie", that I don't know what they are, or do, but can't think why it would cause problems.

Is anyone else playing with Build 14? If you are, and morgan terror as well, if you can start a new game just to test the Santos Quest, set your level to 30 or so and give yourself a good sword and pistol, just to hit all the marks and see if the error occurs consistently. I'm in the process of downloading the full Build 13, to which I'll then add the Build 14 files, but in the meantime if others could try it, I'd appreciate it.

Can we move this discussion to the "Santos" thread I have in the brainstorming forum? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

sorry i am not sure if this is fixed or not i am corrently using build 13 but i dont think a lot of people test or encounter such a thing so there is a chance this bug is still there
i have the same problem but i think this situation happen beacuse u see ambros and he become hostile toward u he is also invincible (probably thinking u have accepted santos mission to kill him and at the same time beacuse u didnt accept the santos mission ambros is invincible ) also if u chose to kill santos u will see that he is invincible too (and all of his friend ) (probably beacuse the quest think u already accepted to kill ambros)

this is what happened for me:
i accepted the quest from ambros then get to leviatan beach for treasure hunting (there was a lot of pirate there so i thinked ambros is one of them) and attacked ambros (ambros was already hostile i didnt start the fight) but he was invincible so i leave him and go for my treasure, after that i go to santos to complete the assassin quest i coulndt damage him santos was invincible. this function (invincible npcs) is probably to prevent people to scrow their quest so there should be a mistake in quest programing

sorry for bringing up such a old post but i should report that
