Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I'm going to use one of these: :wp Looks amazing! I can do a gazillion things with this place: There are bones, there are altars, there are huts, there are caves, there are totem poles... :dance

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

No it doesn't say anything else. That's Sacred Forest": Probably some mistake here, but how to find it, if error.log doesn't point out the line in that file?

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

F12 doesn't do anything so far. Error.log says COMPILE ERROR - file: locations\locations_init.c; line: 234 function 'LocationInitAruba' not found COMPILE ERROR - file: locations\locations_init.c; line: 234 function 'CreateGameLocations' stack error And compile.log Reload: Process started for...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Now I made a first attempt to put this into place. Copied from a jungle, then looked at Gold-Bugs Bishop Hostel for inspiration and understanding. How does it look so far? I set Monsters to "false". In the models section, I added the re-named locator file, and the .gm files, two of them as...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Okay Dokay, I copied the textures files in the top PoTC texture folder (not in one of the sub folders). One texture file had a similar name, but not the same. And the first location, now seen in PotC, seems to look good. Of course the trees and everything are still missing, but they are a...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I made a new folder in RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\outside, and so far copied all the files from the corresponding VCO folder. They're quite different. There are .gm and .col files that look familiar, but also a lot of other stuff, including text files. But where should the textures go...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I have my eyes on two potential VCO locations. One is the forest with four caves, named 1001029 in my VCO folder. I have posted screenshots of that one here. The other would be 502. I'm not 100% sure what I would do with it, but it's a cove with a shipwreck that maybe could use the same...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I don't really care which way the ship faces. If it's (more or less) easily doable, I'd only be interested in placing it around the corner in the bay. But if it's for some reason so much trickier than doing locators on land, leaving it where it is now is fine as well for me. Otherwise, there's...

    Rescuing the Imperial envoy

Okay, it's just because Edmundo didn't show up ever and I felt there was no need to recruit some Bloke from the tavern during this temporary quest, since I knew everything would be restored soon, I don't run around as a full group anway as long as it isn't neccessary, and the current status...
  10. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I made a new locator in cayman_locators.gm , just using the x and z value from compile.log, since all the others are either 0 or 1 for all the other locators. This doesn't place the ship where I intended (just around the corner in a little bay) but it places it much closer to Eden Rock with no...

    Rescuing the Imperial envoy

Well, it's what happened :shrug Edmundo wasn't in command of a ship, he was just not an active member of my party at the point where ships and officers are taken away and stored. Formoselle only gave me the ship and I don't normally carry ether bottles anyway. I only sawthe possibility of...

    Rescuing the Imperial envoy

In jail, probably. I only had Fred Bob as an active officer when I was arrested. The Santiago governor's assistant got my out of the prison.

    Rescuing the Imperial envoy

But someone else had the idea in the first place. ;) If you solve the tavern drinks puzzle in Devlin Opera and then go look for Blaze and Bonnie in Santo Domingo, you meet another aptly named "man2". The bonus quest was fun. I almost felt sorry for Uasco Mazinho when he said "but how can I...

    2 letters of margue

That's exactly why it took my poor Helen so long to gain the required Spanish privateer rank for the Imperial Escort quest. One, I got another commision from the Port Royal governor after evacuating him and his wife, and two, Spain and England decided to make peace with France and I was stuck...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Very near, because I made both in that small cove just around the corner from Eden Rock, where I want to place the 'Pastenague' in the end. Here is the compile.log of that. Just to be sure, I went to this very same spot near Eden Rock, Cayman. As far as I can see, the "ang" values x and z are...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Now this is the version of compole.log which is generated when I use your console.c from above and execute it at the spot where I'd like to make a quest locator.
  17. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

This sounds quite complicated compared to just moving your character somewhere, pressing F12 and then just doing one copy paste and a handful of clicks in TOOL. I still don't see exactly how you know the coordinates and to which value they'd have to be changed. But I can try this console later...
  18. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I don't think I understand... For land locators, I can just copy a line of coordinates from compile.log into the text file generated by using "write to file" on the .gm locator file. Can't I do this here as well somehow? Or what do you mean with "edit the coordinates using TOOL"? Actually, I'd...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Now I have coordinates in compile.log with just x and z coordinates. Like this Ship position: x=-890.462, z=885.667 But when I write "Cayman_locators.gm" to a text file, they look more like this Quest_ships,quest_ship_16,1,0,0,0,1,0,0,0,1,0,0,2000,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0, My console looks like...

Oops. Thank you. What about not getting the console coordinates in compile.log for my new sea locator?
