Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Like an idiot I noticed errors in both the preceding and the following quest case and fixed them. :modding For now, "Cayman_sea_battle_begins3" works but I'm also using an alternative version of the case right now, copied from the Mefisto battle, so it does spawn directly next to me. This makes...
  2. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

@Grey Roger okay, I can't find my enemy ship anywhere now :facepalm and neither sail to nor the world map work, even though I have commentedout the respective code. It seems like I can't even moor. Sea battles don't seem to be my strongest suit... This is the current state of the quest case...
  3. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

No, I had taken that out already. Cayman_sea_battle_won adds a quest book entry and sets the next win condition for you to return to the beach. I'll make sure to add that line. EDIT: @Grey Roger once again I couldn't find my enemy ship. I'm going to remove bQuestDisableMapEnter now for testing...
  4. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

They're pretty big I think. If there are 6 smaller quests there don't have to be six huge locations of course. What about those lines in the Hornblower battle? EDIT: More about sea battles. As you know I decided against an immediate attack when you go to sea, because storywise, the pirate ship...
  5. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I mean not only the cave. I feel like I can only figure out the bigger pucture of the chapter when figuring out what and how many locations I can use or import. Even better than your suggestion is playing the Hornblower story with the Natividad mission at the end, which I have done before. But...
  6. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I would clearly depend on your much appreciated help! Another thing that comes to mind: If there's a new location, I'll probably need a locator to actually enter it and figure out the coordinates with console to make all the other locators. But I'm not there yet. The "Hermit and the Frogs"...
  7. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I don't have access right now, but even if I can't download it, I have a backup folder on my old computer. Navigating through VCO in GM viewer is a bit of a pain, as there are many locations, all named after seemingly random numbers, going back one step you always lose track of where you were in...
  8. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Yes, it would be the cave that leads from the waterfall to Nigel Blythe's wreckage. The @Jack Rackham version also has a door and a chest mechanism. I've always had a rough story for Aruba, but it would have to be resolved by performing a series of smaller "cultural" tasks for the Arawak to...
  9. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Hehe. :D But Bonnie in a tavern in any quest that's only slightly longer than the Rocoso Balboa one would mean that Blaze couldn't help but show up there as well! Then again, could be fitting, considering Bonnie was originally supposed to join in on Blaze's Cayman quest as well. Glad I dropped...
  10. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I think you're confusing 1) and 2). One of them concerns the ship battle that's about to come next in the Cayman chapter. The other one concerns the landing place at the end of the story, where the maps earned throughout the story lead you to. There's still a whole Bonnie chapter to be made...
  11. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

    1) For the final landing place, I prefer a location that can be presented as remote and hidden, that's why I was drawn towards the main land, because in theory there's much more space there and it's easier to be remote and hidden. If you think a new quest beach isn't the best solution, then I...
  12. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Yes, it's all very incomplete with these maps. The idea is still the same: Glue the map together after Santiago and it shows one with three names spread over the caribbean. Look for these three people and play a quest there each (one as Beatrice, one as Blaze, one as Bonnie). Each time you get...

    Feedback from Ardent playthrough

Something else (by the Kinks) When I choose to do the "wedding ring shopping" ruse with the guard that follows me around, then the only option is to have my ship in the port, right? But I came from the beach, thinking the fort will probably recognise my ship - considering it's called "Siroco"...
  14. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Things are moving slowly but steadily... - Right now, I'm adding some little "precautions" when you go the wrong way - Then I can wrap up this part of the quest - Then I have to add variations depending on where your ship is and whether you hired Annie - Then I have to do the whole other route...
  15. BathtubPirate

    Feedback from Ardent playthrough

Yes and yes. I saved right after entering and I found everything now and am on to the "Kidnap" quest already.
  16. BathtubPirate

    Feedback from Ardent playthrough

Oo-kay, problem solved :modding I haven't in a long time, so I didn't remember that... And this is exactly where I ran into invisible walls, because for some reason, it doesn't reload to the next location automatically. But all I had to do was hit space or F3.
  17. BathtubPirate

    Feedback from Ardent playthrough

Something must be off then, because 1) the only room with a mosaic I can find is nowhere near the trail of skull signs 2) there is no rug in there 3) no locator triggers to make me stop and turn 4) there is nothing interesting near the trail of skull signs and 5) the trail of skull signs leads...
  18. BathtubPirate

    Feedback from Ardent playthrough

Between coding and testing the Devlin Opera I'm now replaying Ardent for the dont-know-how-many-th time, but this time, I'm too dumb to find the object in the Mayan temple. The skull signs lead to a dead end where the walking path seems to end in the middle of the corridor, which happens in...
  19. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

You're right, they're "rld" locators. I have this lazy trick where I just open a locator file in a text editor to see a bunch of locators which do exist in the place, but the text is all over the place and I read the wrong category for them. I'm going to use a bunch of "prison" locators now...
  20. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Yes but I wanted two beaches that were not separated by the town. The Ardent storyline has the quest location Quest_Hold1, which is a cargo hold. In need of a cargo hold, I copied that into Devlin Opera's QuestLocations file, renamed it Devlin_Hold1, but teleporting there just brings me to the...
