    Editing the Game engine

There is no point to this. If you really think you are right, then go ahead, believe yourself and leave it at that. However, if you want to go on arguing, or worse, if you want to go around telling people that this contract they have signed is invalid, I suggest you do some research first. It...

    RELEASE--- The Napoleonic Skins

Well, I went back and searched the file. Nowhere in any of the files concerning the British Islands does the "soldier_eng" ever come up. So, since the code I presented doesn't contain them, I have to assume that you didn't copy over all of the files... how, I don't know. Open up, in your...

    RELEASE--- The Napoleonic Skins

I checked the tailor thing. Yes, you need to be atleast a midshipman to buy the new clothes. If you don't want that, open up initmodels in hte program/models directory and change all hte minranks to 0. In my version the new redcoats are there, I'll check.

    RELEASE--- The Napoleonic Skins

Are you really a Captain, or are you just using the captain's skin? You need to be atleast a midshipman to buy them, not just a Privateer. Also, I don't know if you have to start a new game. I would assume so.

    RELEASE--- The Napoleonic Skins

Hmmm. I put them at the bottom of the tailor_shop mod. I'll take a look.

    RELEASE--- The Napoleonic Skins

Well, I had been posting screenshots in other threads. Here is a link to the british pack thread: <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/`ftopic2244-20`.php" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net/`ftopic2244-20`.php</a> I hope that will suffice for now.

    RELEASE--- The Napoleonic Skins

This afternoon I completed work on the Napoleonic pack I've been working on for sometime. Its not everything I had originally planned, but that leaves room for important. Also, my freeware FTP program evaluation period ends tomorrow, so I wanted to release what I could, while I still could...

    Another Blaze skin.

Go to the ellaybe island gallery and upload your pic to the public server. That's how I do it. <a href="http://www.thelib.com/gallery/index.php" target="_blank">http://www.thelib.com/gallery/index.php</a>

    Realistic Sailing Model.

As far as the damage model, you can demast a vessel or knock away her bowsprit, but that's it. Firing dead into her aft will not affect her steering or anything to that effect. Infact, there was this odd little bug that a completely demasted vessel could still turn? I don't know if anyone...

    Realistic Sailing Model.

You said it Bumpkin. The sailing really does leave something to be desired. How I wish this were a sailing simulation, and not an adventure game. Are you using the build? If not you will be pleasantly surprised with the new sailing model. No more sailing into the wind, and ships have a...

    Editing the Game engine

If you don't agree to it, then take it back. Even if Bestbuy won't, the manufacturer must, its part of the deal. The only thing you are buying is a license. Additionally, you only buy the license to install it on one computer. So, if you have two computers in your house, you have to buy the...

Who really makes the best prize captain?

well I'll be a horses uncle! I can sure put my hoof in my mouth. I guess I should play more and talk less. Good to know.

The Golden Hind - Sir Francis Drake

Nice job Cat. <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> Oh yeah, the Hind... around 1580 Drake sailed clear around the world and returned to England a hero. That's all the background on it I know. Didn't he become a pirate sometime after and get his...

Who really makes the best prize captain?

Very true. Although, I guess it is `self-evident` that in a sailing game shore leave is less than secondary. You are right to say that there should be more going on in the towns. Nathan had planned to create a system where wooing the governor's daughters would bring you into competition with...

Yet another idea from myself Cap'n Cornish.

Very interesting idea. For the record, the period term for this `prize-manager` of yours is "`prize-agent`." The prize agent would take the prize what was called the prize court. Here they would determine first of all if it was a lawful capture by examining its pass and logs, and if so...

    Editing the Game engine

Hmmm, I haven't seen that yet. Was this schooner a national vessel or a pirate? Pirates tend to be better, as I recall. The fact that it was a schooner gives it much better sailing abilities too. I have yet to see a `square-rig` do anything memorable.

Who really makes the best prize captain?

When you look at your officers skill sets, it seems to me that the "First Mate" is really the worst choice for a prize captain or consort. The gunner or master make more sense. Perhaps someone should take a look at that. Perhaps an overall haul of officer types is needed. Afterall, Sea Dogs...

Does your master gunner earn his pay?

Ever noticed in those big fleet engagements that its hard to really appreciate the situation while still having to manually aim your shots? Ever wonder what your officers are doing while you are aiming all of your guns simultaneously? Well, how about an option to give the firing of your guns...
