Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

Have a good long POTC free rest NK, after all the time modding with the Build and PMT I think taht you deserve a break. I have a suggestion that may temporarily fix the black screen problem. Go into the PROGRAM/CONTROLS folder of your POTC installation. Back up or copy to another location...

    v11 question... changing character's name

Thanks to Fred_Bob this link for Build 11 is working: <a href="http://www.myhostingplan.net/piratesahoy/build/packages/`build11-standard`.exe" target="_blank">http://www.myhostingplan.net/piratesahoy/b...andard`.exe</a>

You could try installing Build 11 over a clean POTC installation and then installing Build 12. This has worked for some people, but not for everyone. Thanks to Fred_Bob you can find Build 11 here: <a href="http://www.myhostingplan.net/piratesahoy/build/packages/`build11-standard`.exe"...

    PotC Build 12 Release Announcement

Unfortunately that doesn't work for me and I tried it a few times. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Also the first thing that I did was check the WhrSea.c file for the correct Sea.Bump.MipLevels = 4 line and even tried changing it manually.

NK, I've emailed the list, but the EXE and MODULE folders is over 2.5MB RAR'd Can your PS mailbox handle that large a file?

Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

That's exactly what I did Buccanero but it didn't work for me. It seems that Build 12 will work for some people who are running a `non-US` version but not for others. I appreciate any other suggestions that people can make otherwise my copy of POTC will just have to gather dust until Build...

    PotC Build 12 Release Announcement

I recommend that anyone who is using a `non-US` version of the game <b>do not</b> install this mod until we are able to locate and rectify the problem of a black screen when you start the game.

Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

OK then, installing Build 11 and then Build 12 is not working. What I have just tried is installing Build 11 and then just copying everything except the PROGRAM folder from Build 12 into the POTC folder and I do not get the flickering screen and can start a new game. This mean that somewhere...

Thanks Fred_Bob. I tried it and it still doesn't work <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I'll try it again on a clean installation but it doesn't look good. It seems that...

That's the same error log I get Drunken. Fred_Bob IIRC Keith cleaned up the FTP site and as Build12 was released Build11 would have been the first thing that was deleted. I'll PM him but if he hasn't got a copy of it somewhere then someone else will have to upload it.

I plan on giving that a try if/when someone can point me to where I can find a copy of Build 11. It's been removed from here and I can't find it on any other POTC/Pirate website and I've searched Google and even a couple of file sharing networks without any success.

Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

Even then there is no guarantee that it'll work. I'm hoping that there is a file that previous Builds had which isn't included in Build 12. If this doesn’t work then that would mean that this is a coding problem. In that case it could take us several months to find out what the problem...

Thanks NK, I've tried it at it doesn't seem to work. I'll uninstall POTC and try it again on a clean install and let you know if that works tomorrow.

Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

Thanks Fred_Bob, unfortunately I was wrong and this hasn't fixed the problem. But there is a difference between my EXE file and your one, so even though this won't fix this particular problem I would suggest that it gets added to the Build so that everyone is using the same EXE file. However...

Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

I've tried everything that I can think of to get this working with a European version of POTC. All of the files are localised as I have run the BAT file manually several times and EURO has been set to 1 in BuildSettings.h Fred_Bob said on another thread that the EXE file is no longer...

Dedicated Bug Reporting Thread BUILD 12

I think that I've found out why the installer says that it can't open Buildsettings.h and that is because it has to open BuildSettings.h I know that they are the same file but I suspect that the installer has problems handling capitalisation of a character in a file name. I have also tried...
