    artillery in land battles?

Yeah, the very fist build we got had the artillery in it, but they took it out. It was pretty cumbersome honestly and we're not missing anything by losing them.

The captain of the guard in the tavern, any point?

I always fight him. At swashbuckler level, I lose LOTS of crew. Every 10 helps!

Differences in the game and the preview?

Nope, no "assasinations". Just maybe an apprehend mission from a daughter now and again. I've knocked the sails off an enemy ship so many times I can't count. It's my prefered way to get them to strike their colors. Can't loot when you sneak into a town. And I think the tavern and the...

Is anyone still playing this game?

I disagree. I think the gameplay is darn near IDENTICAL to the original. There are a few things that don't directly compare. Like the removal of ship to shore battles and the addition of dancing. But the game "feels" just like the original to me. My brother and father both agreed as well...

Sad about duels, won't buy Pirates! after all...

I'm kinda in the same boat as you Orltran. I stink at Swashbuckler swordfighting. I lose nearly every fight. Poor me!

Is anyone still playing this game?

Well, I tried a new career on swashbuckler and got spanked last night. Started with a sloop in Port Royale in 1660. Boarded a trade galleon and got beat off of it in the swordfight. Once I got out of jail, I sunk a trade galleon while trying to wack all it's crew. Then went after a smuggler...

Who can provide a whole map of game?

Yeah, I snatched poster off ebay but would like a `T-shirt` too. Got a store display standee coming too - for my office.

    So what's next?

Well, for some folks the repetativeness drove them away from the game completely. But for those of us who have a great time with the game (despite seeing Raymondo over and over), we just try to cahnge things up each time. Try playing at a harder difficulty level from the start. Starting out...

Is anyone still playing this game?

Yeah, I have found that after every career I play, the break between the time I finish that career and start a new one seems to grow a bit (which is EXACTLY how the original was and CIV). I'm up to about a week or 10 days between doses now, but over time that will increase. The game will be on...

Is anyone still playing this game?

Yep, started another career today. I'll play it till it's over (probably take about 3 evenings depending on time at the gym) and then take about 10 days off. Plays just like the old one and if I had a dime for all the hours I spent playing the original... I'd be a rich pirate!

The problems with the remake of Pirates!

Sorry you didn't like it Edgar. While I agree with many of the complaints you have, I certainly don't think they make the game a disaster. But, I DO like the dancing. It's cute and fun... and it was hilarious to watch my dad try to do the first couple times. He got laughing so hard after the...

    Is There Enough Time???

I like the aging rate as it is. I think it gives you a sense of urgency which I find to add another element to the game. It keeps you from `dilly-dallying` about and keeps you on task. By "on task" I don't mean on quest, but definately moving towards fame and fortune, however you decide to...

No Nation + Piracy + 1600 Era = Easy Game? nah dont think so

I see what you are getting at now. Well, don't ally yourself, just take advantage up the dutch merchants and the tavern maybe.

No Nation + Piracy + 1600 Era = Easy Game? nah dont think so

YOu might want to recuit enough crew with the prime objective of taking over the smallest spanish settlement in the area and installing a governor who is friendly to give you a base of operations. I played a rogue career at 1620s and had a great time. I might do a 1600's one soon.
