    well thats definitly some hints here. Good job. Maybe you can look into the files with WinMerge and compare the itch.io Maelstrom New Horizons with my file, and see if I probably merged something wrong there.

    This can't be right.. You got the PROGRAM folder from 2013, the old "start.exe" engine in and an engine.ini file inside... did you try to just slap the Maelstrom engine on the "old" GOF ? That won't work. You need the Maelstrom GOF provided on itch.io This is how the game directory should look...

    I am not really a coder either. Most of the time its just trial and error for me and asking others what the error.logs mean. For playing currently the itch.io version, tho I edited and changed a few things to add new features like lanterns and the fighting system.

ERAS II and GOF don't offer too much customization within internalsettings.h or something like that. New Horizons offers pretty much the same customization like the original Storm 2.0...
