    Treasure

    You may only have a part of the map, treasures look on land like a pile of rocks with a couple skulls on sticks (thats what it looks like to me anyway). Chances are it's either really close to the edge of the ocean, or you only have part of a map, and its not shoing the full picture.

    How do i save a game?

    You can't save while docked in a town, you have to send your ship out to see then save using the same methods you stated in your post. I dont know why this is, but it is. I would have to assume the programming must have had a problem starting up with a pirates ship in the town already.
