    Not a bad idea actually, she looks wood but she's cheaper to maintain and she's lighter, which means more ballast for added stability. Good boat, good looking, bad replica.

    She suffered pretty severe structural damage; the hull was pierced all the way through. It's actually a fiberglass hull though so it wouldn't have taken the excessive damage throughout that a wooden hull would have.

    Earlier today during the massive blizzard that's struck the Eastern United States the tall ship Providence was blown off of her supports on land. She had been hauled out of the water for the winter. She's sustained heavy damage, but will hopefully be fully repaired by the end of this summer...

    She has her problems, her keel's apparently sinking and she needs further restoration. Masts and figurehead are still out unfortunately.
