In the finest tradition of bringing you the very best and worst eBay has to offer, I found this and thought you all would get a kick out of it - it's an EIGHTEEN INCH (bigger than GI Joe!) action figure of Captain Jack Sparrow from the movie POTC - and he TALKS! (LOL!) There are two versions, smiling, and serious... This is an incredibly detailed figurine, and when I found it and took a good look at the pictures, I was pretty darned impressed... These are works of art!

This will not be available in regular stores, only specialty shops.

There also will be a set of four 7" action figures released - they do not talk - but are Will, Jack, Barbossa (with monkey Jack!), and a skeleton pirate. Those are due to be released around November 30th.

I received my Smiling <b>Captain</b> Jack a week ago. He seems to last forever on his AAA batteries- haven't changed them since I got him.

The figure is very well made (from a modeler's POV) and is really <span style='`font-size`:25pt;`line-height`:100%'>HUGE</span>. The sound chip does a very good Johnny Depp imitation with sentences from the movie like:

He comes with some props from the movie. Among these is the "compass that doesn't point north". He is set up so his cutlass is held in the left hand, the pistol in his right, and there IS an extra hand that you can use to switch for the pistol, I think... Not sure, I've only opened mine up last night to show to a visiting friend. The hat, hand, and rum bottle were in a separate compartment I did not open up.

Incredible detail... When I first browsed this forum, I was afraid it advocates online piracy (like the last three forums I looked at). But finally, an authentic pirates forum powered by phpBB! This is awesome.

I think at least one of them does... There's a serious one, too.
