Anno 1701

Well, the wait for Age of Pirates CT is killing me. I was stumbling around on IGN's website looking for an update of some kind, when I ran across the preview for Anno 1701. Many of you may not be very familiar with the anno series of games from Sunflowers, but if you are into strategy type games, you might want to check it out.

I suspect the gameplay will be very similar to 1503 and 1602 before it, but the graphics look about 10 times better. It isn't exactly a "pirate" game, though there are pirates in it. It is more of a steady-paced colony management game.

Oh, here's a link to IGN's preview. There's also a trailer out there on the net.

Oh yes. I remember the AI having some notable faults. I checked the official Sunflowers forum and I believe this has been mentioned to their devs. I remember the trick used to destroy the enemy's troops, just drop your troops off and when the enemy chases them to the shore, bomb them with your ship's cannnons. And the AI would get stuck from time to time. If this game turns out to be any sort of improvement, I'll probably check it out first-hand.

they always release a demo fist.
If you don't know the game, try it out, since the anno series are rather hard for beginners (it's all about economics: produce to much and your collony goes bankrupt, produce to little and the settlers will start a rebelion)
