There has been a bit of news regarding a number of games so let me start with it.
<a href="http://www.ascaron.com/gb/gb_frameset/gb_ie_start.html" target="_blank">Ascaron</a> who we know for the Port Royale series has sold some of it's IP's to <a href="http://www.kalypsomedia.com/" target="_blank">Kalypso Media</a>. Among others they include both the rights to the Port Royale Fanchise as well as Patrician. As I am aware there are no plans for any further developments but to spend money on it might mean there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. (Hopefully for a new Patrician)
