big problem

ok heres my problem every time I go to a ships deck it just goes black I can still open the menu and charectar thing but it's black and I can't do anything or go anywhere please help

That's not right. Please <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">enable error logging</a> and tell me what's in error.log and system.log.
I take it you didn't remove the RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\decks folder <i>after</i> extracting Build 14 Alpha 8, right?
That would cause a black screen when visiting your deck. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Just to ensure I'm not talking crap, I loaded up my game and visited my ship's deck just fine. I tested the installation process for Build 14 Alpha 8 and, when done correctly, you should get the exact same result as my game version.
