Several of my contacts have informed me that Build 12 contains a trojan. Is this true? If not, can someone give me a step-by-step guide to installing it anyway??? THANKS!

Hello?

UPDATE: Sorry! This is for the Build12_full.zip of Pirates Of The Carribean just so you know.

UPDATE: Sorry! This is for the Build12_full.zip of Pirates Of The Carribean just so you know.

Just re-downloaded the full Build 12.1 zip file a few days ago and installed it. No viruses, trojans, keyloggers, hottentots, nor itinerant spoon players. Very clean.

No problems with my Build 12. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I can assure you that there are no trojans in build 12

heres the page from my norton to prove it:

as to installing it just open the zip file and run the exe.
then just point the box that comes up to where you installed pirates.
when it finishes a dos box will come up and just press space, ALT-ENTER and space again.
If it does anything wait for it to finish then push space again. if it doen't do anything just press space

There ya go build mod installed

I can assure you that it most certainly does not contain a trojan or anything that will hurt your computer at all. I made that installer myself and it is just a plain self-extracting .exe file as made by WinZip. I most certainly didn't insert any crap-ware in there. I prefer modding the game over blowing up computers. Much more fun to improve a game. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

THIS IS WHAT MY PC GOT

Why are you scanning the shortcut to PotC for virusses? That file was generated during the original installation of the game; it's not infected with a virus. The only files that could theoretically be infected are the mod files. But if you got them from the regular source (this site), they certainly aren't infected. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />
