Cannons in Land Battles

I've tried (and failed) to ransack a few towns now. I always have a large surplus of cannons, but I've never seen how to utilize them in my siege attempts. How do I get them into my land battles?

Yeah, I have not figured that out either. I have successfully sacked about 20 towns this morning, but have seen no options for cannons on land. I wonder if you have to have more cannons than can be carried by your whole fleet... I am not sure if I have been in that situation yet. Well.. back to the game to see.
