Solved Chased throughout the map

ussually i sail for france that way the dutch or english dont bother me and i have two safe harbors of different nations, i mostly attack spanish ships, i can understand patrols and bounty hunters chasing me, but when they're not around and i am trying to catch up to a spanish ship/fleet im chased by 1 to 3 pirate ships, i have to loose them to then attack the spanish, its soooo anoying anyone have any tips on dealing with this????

I don't think you can. Other than killing the pirates or outrunning them in real time, that is.

go to friendly or neutral harbor...
and let the fortress scare away the pirates.

but also lose the spaniard target in the process.
no solution.
