Choose Outfits

Hello---First time here, and thank you guys for doing a great job with POTC. Played with mod 12 on my old computer and did fine, but had to re-install on the new one. My daughter also plays, and on our old set-up she was able to choose between three female outfits to use. It also helped us to tell our "Saves" apart. Is there a way to get this feature back? I'm running Build 12.1 now. Thanks for any help.

I think theres a tailor mod in B12.1 but i do know for certain Post build has it, along with tons of other features you wouldnt dream of, and in it you can select a female skin from the start and purchase other skins.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> there and welcome aboard.

Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

You can buy any outfit you like from the tailor's shop. In Build 12.1, only the Quabradas Costillas tailor sells the Danielle outfit. In the Post Build 12 mods, a lot more female skins are available.

Thanks for the replies, mates. I'm a computer illiterate who's awed by POTC and what you have done with it. I'm not even sure if I'm posting this reply correctly. I've stayed with build 12.1 because when I tried Post build 12 , it crashed whenever I tried to leave Oxbay after the tutorial. Made me a nervous wreck. I'll try again in a couple of weeks after I study thes posts and comments more closely. Thanks again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Never mind about the Post Build 12 mods. We're having some serious troubles with those at the moment, but we're trying hard to fix it. I think we might finally be on the right track to fix it. Once it's working properly stable, I will notify everybody that it's ready for use. I will release a new version once we fixed the CTDs (Crashes to Desktop) that are plaguing the current versions.

Are there any Main Quest walk-throughs available for Build12.1? From the old site I've gotten up to Danielle at the lighthouse, but it stops there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

I added two walkthroughs from the original game to this post. Everything should work (almost) the same in Build 12.1. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
If there's anything you can't figure out, post it here and we'll try to help. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Thanks for all the help,Pieter. Looks like I've got enough quests to keep me busy for a while! My daughter found Danielle on Q.C, so she's happy, except for being named Nathanial now. I'll keep watching for when you guys get the bugs out of the Post Build. POTC is the only game I play on the computer now. It's great that you can either take a leisurely cruise with a beer in your hand, or fight with a bunch of maniacal pirates and maybe end up on the sea floor. Keep up the good work! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

You can change your name by changing the FIRSTNAME and LASTNAME defines in PROGRAM\BuildSettings.h (open with notepad). Then press the N-button ingame and your name will change to the name you entered in BuildSettings.h. That way your daughter should be able to change her ingame name to whatever she'd like without changing the name you have in your game.

In the Post Build 12 mods it's easier. You can click the name in the F2>Character screen, then type in the new name. This works also for officers. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Thanks for the help,Pieter. That was my first foray into Build settings. Everything worked out fine. Now everyone around here thinks I'm a computer genius. And I haven't tried to deny it. I figure they should KNOW that anyone who concentrates on Pirate games would not be above a little deviousness and piracy himself! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
