Congratulations & Question about Armor

Hi all Pirates,

After a year, I am visiting your forum; I decided to participate and to place a post. First of all, congratulation for your excellent work concerning mods and Builds. A big Bravo from the Head of the IT Department of a Telecom company, but mostly from a gamer who’s playing PC based games since 1980.

Me and my sons ( <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> 9 years old and <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> 6 years old), we’ve played the original PotC the day it has arrived in Greece, we’ve played `PotC-Build` 10.0 and now we’ve installed on our PCs `PotC-Build` 12.0. It’s like playing 3 different games, it’s simply amazing.

I have a question. Playing Build 12, it was impossible to find an armor to buy. The only thing I was able to do, it was to buy from a tailor an armored suit for one of my officers and then to transfer the armor to my main character (since I like the way he looks and I don’t wand to change him). But then it was impossible to transfer the armor to another officer, hired or not.

I also installed Alan_Smithee New Weapons mod, RobC/Alan_Smithee Blacksmiths Mod v. 2.0 and Bill and Ted's "Excellent" Adaptation. Using Bill and Ted’s Adaptation I tried to give different items to my main character (statues, rubies, guns etc) successfully except any armour. The Gold, Battle and Cheap Armour are described as items in the:
“d:pirates of the CaribbeanRESOURCEINITEXTSENGLISHItemsDescribe.txt” file.

Where can I buy or find an armor?

Kids (and dad) seek an answer please …<b></b><b></b>

For as far as I know, armor comes with outfits that have armor. I suppose it's been scripted so that you can't use armor if your outfit doesn't feature armor. So if you see an outfit having armor, the person will have armor. Otherwise, the person won't. So if you want to use armor for a character, you need to apply an outfit showing armor with that person. However, I might be totally off here, or there might be a way to work around this. Hope I managed to help anyway.

Pieter is 100% correct! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Yep, Pieter got it right - you have to buy more armored suits at the tailor shops if you want your boarding party officers to have armor. They have to wear it to have it enabled, unless that bug hasn't' been fixed yet. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
