Conquer Fort/Change Flag

I have 4 questions for the game, cause i still can't understand it fully:

1. I have Morgan's mission to transport a passanger to Port Royal, but i'm a spanish captain. I changed the flag from F2>Nations>Flag to english one, but the fort cannons still fire at me. How to do this ?
2. I have tried to capture a fort with my fleet. I had big losses, but i got the message "Fort cannons destroyed"(~5-6 times) and...now what to do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
3. How to sail against the wind when i'm in "Sea mode".
4. How to escape from a battle, when a french man-o-war is after me and i have just 12ppl crew and no way to defeat the frenchies.

1. I guess your stealth skill wasn't good enough so the fort recognised your flag trick and shot at you.
Try landing in Portland Bay or at the Lighthouse of Port Royale and go to the city gate via jungle after 0:00. The guards will wander around the city. Try to go to Morgan's place without being captured by the guards. If nothing happens, sleep at the tavern till morning and go again to Morgan's manor. An event should occur.

2. The fort definetly has more than 5-6 cannons. You have to destroy all of them. When the fort is damaged you will be able to land the troops. Then you can slaughter the garrison of the fort + the town.

3. Don't sail directly against the wind. The ship type also matters, but sailing against the wind is usually a stupid idea. Try sailing a bit to the left or the right.

4. The Manowar is fat and slow. A fast ship can easily run away and I would advise you to do so. Those 42lb cannons (the worst case) do hurt a lot.

Other options: reloading, cheating or evading. When a ship on the map follows you, enter the sea mode immediately when the grappling hook icon appears. You will be in battle but if done right, the ships are so far away that you can leave to the map mode and the fleet has vanished.
