Can someone convert a 3Ds file into gm so that it can be used in POTC <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Please export your model to .obj file type and zip it with the textures.

Then send it over surak_nar@primus.ca) and I shall export it as a .gm for you <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Conversion Note:

So, as a general rule for Conversion and Export.

Textures
1 - All Models have to be Textured
2 - All textures be in DDS compliant format (64,128,256,512 multiples and combinations)
3 - Textures should of the .tga format
4 - If possible use the 1 for all texturing way, but if not, multiple textures work too.

Models
1 - Models types of .Obj format, with mapping/texture (UV/UVW) coordinates.
2 - Grid scale/units in Max if possible set to Centimeters
3 - If posible to set World Coordinate to `X-Z`-Y, (If not, can be rotated in maya)
4 - Insure proper Normal orientations, it can be time consuming to fix normals otherwise.
5 - Everything must be Polygons, no NURBS please.

These steps will minimise time to adjust models properly for export, adjustments are always required nevertheless, but if you insure the above Models will be exported faster.
