Dancing freezes?

I just tried dancing today unfortunately it seems like the game freezes when he enters the ballroom the cammera moves a little but it doesnt move after that, the controls are not responsive. The only button that does work is the esc button.

Could it be something to do with the fact that since I don't have my sound card enabled due to the DVD issue? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

I read in another forum not long ago of someone having the same prob. He wrote in the post that it seems like the game takes a major slow down and seems to go pixel by pixel. He said he left the game sit for about 5min and notice very small movements on the chracters.
