Earning a letter of Marque

I have decided to start a character and do the English quest line. I decided that it would be fun to earn my way up the ranks instead of buying documents from pirates, so I have been doing quests for English governors every chance I get.

I have currently completed 18 quests for governors, mostly in Port of Spain and Port Royale. My relations with England are still Neutral and I have not yet earned a letter of Marque, but all the people in the tavern constantly talk about how the Governors love me.

Any idea on how long this process takes? I don't care if it is extremely long, but I would like to know that I am making at least a little progress.

You are making progress, but you're going the inefficient way about it. Privateer patents are granted at the personal discretion of a governor, so there's no point in wasting time impressing more than one of them. Pick one and keep doing missions only for him.

This quest shud give you something usefall like a standing boost with governor and his country, free letter of marque becouse I entered aristocracy, usefall gosips or your kids as oficers.
