Thanks to Zeewolf on the official forum. In what some would seem a logical ending East India has signed up with Scandinavian publishers and owners of Gamersgate, Paradox Interactive. The good news is digital distribution for everyone! The down side however is that we'll need to wait until September to get your hands on it.

Paradox Vice-President Fredrik Wester: This is a great game, and when given the opportunity to publish it, this was an easy decision to make. There hasn't been a good trade/fight/build game in a long time where you can manage huge ships and just go havoc on the seven seas. I think this is a welcome addition to the gamers who miss titles like Port Royale and other games in the same genre.

At this time there is no official word either on the East India Company website nor the Paradox site although I think this will be a happy end to what could have turned into a very ugly situation. I'll get more news on this asap, until then our thread, thanks to bumpkin is HERE
